OK, final pics of Deff Dread #2 before he gets painted later on
went on to do a bit more work on him since i needed to make them look very different.
i will be making a 3rd once parts turn up, ran out of dreads to hack up XD

Awesome conversion! That is a really cool use of a dread. Can't wait to see some pain on it.

will get this undercoated tonight, then paint tomorrow, might get some koptas on the konvershun table too, see what i can make of em.

I really like the dreads, but i keep thinking that orks would replace some larger parts like the occasional leg.

keep up the good work though, i can't wait for the boyz.

leg change was my origional idea, but im currently at base, so limited to parts
then thought i would pose them a little, until i realised that the way they have moulded it makes it pretty much impossible.
the front of the sarcophagus is moulded to the mid leg section, meaning i would need to remove part of that too, then rebuild that and the top section of the legs / hip joint.

since they are only BR boyz, konvershuns wont be much :(
need to get down to GW and buy some stuff, thinking along the lines of a few wagons, green tide box and a stompa to start with.

also got 10 lootas to paint up now

I like the second one better. Personally it looks like a biggie sized ork and most excellent. However both are inspired.

blender section was carefully cut from a kopta tail fin, tempted to cut out the other 2 and find some use for em later in time XD

Done the samething with the Dread myself. It's good fun painting it up in my main SM opponents colours, heh heh heh. Quick question where did the rockets come from?

rokkits were from the previous stormboyz models, brought a bulk load ages ago, since then i keep finding a use for em XD


the dreads were 2nd hand, im guessing he was a BA player since one red dread, and the 2nd is black, with a red X on it lol

At first I was kind of skeptical about how the dread would turn out, as I thought it still looked too much like a SM dread... however I am infinitely impressed with the finished product and the paintjob is fantastically orky! I love it. Can't wait to see the other ones. Keep it up!

once i made it i was worried about if it looked orky enough myself
but decided to paint it up 1st before ripping it apart, but luckily, its passable to my standards, a little low, but it will do for now.

These dreads are awesome! Keep up the great work!! Remember to shave off the flash from your plastic bits before you glue them on! I'm scratch building a dread my self, and I might copy some of those dreadnaught CC weapsons for mine

as for updates, dead #2 has a basic job done on it now, should have it finished tonight

awesome dread i had a similar idea for the powerfist with chain saw attachments but scraped it becuz i found something more fun to stick on
but i love his other close combat weap, stroke of genius!

not much of an update as of yet, all thats left to paint on the dread is detail like checks, dags and rust.
also ordered a unit of nobz to tinker with (mainly for parts)

dread would have been finished thismorning, but i didnt get in until 5 thismorning after a night out, and my head is still killing me lol.

I was thinking that the 2nd dread looked like the lifter from Aliens, I was waiting for the hive queen to try and eat the ork! The look amazing.

ok, finally got off my lazy ass and got some work done
just a small update, but getting somewhere now.

would be putting together the 3rd dread, but due to complications from an ebay seller i got the parts from, its on hold.
he says i havent paid for the parts yet (2 koptas, SM dread, battle wagon), but i have my paypal and bank statement proving otherwise, however he wont listen, so have to get ebay to sort this.
usual seller didnt have any koptas or wagons, so i found a new shop, didnt see that he had 92% history from over 5,000 sales.

so without further interuption, da boyz! (sorry for bad pics, cam seems to work better under flase light, ill get better ones up tonight)

new ork kits are impressive, large ammount of useful parts, high standard of detail, and fit together 100%
next on the line will be to paint up 3 koptas, and put together the wagon and dread once i sort out this dispute.

I definately 2nd the fact that the new Nob box rocks my socks. Great work so far i love the look of your dreds from both a modeling and a painting standpoint. Your Nobs look dead 'ard too!

im just hoping the stormboyz kit is just as good
i think another box of nobz and a box of lootas and i have my parts to make a unit of flsh gitz (for looks, not use) as i allmost have badruk finished, just needs the GS cleaning up a bit and its ready to paint.

Gotta let me know what the verdict is on the stormboyz kit. The legs look so odd to me but could be ridiculously useful if they actually work.
