Love this method Augustus!! I'm still scared of trying to paint, but maybe I can pool it off coz your method is simple.

If I get this right, you use this method on the base figure to do about 80% of the painting, then spend some time "Detailing up" to bring them up to a finished product?

My comments are my own, and mine own alone. If you have any complaints, please report to Mr Spanky who will take them down for you.....

Here are some of the other Tau Augustus taught us to paint with the big brush method. With this method even white can be painted in just a couple of layers very quickly over a black base.

Yes that is corect. There are some more tricks with using square ended brushes called shaders, to reblack some portions then "scrape" anohter 2 colors over the reblack zones. Scraping is kind of like drybrushing with a damp square brush essentially. Its an idea, like drybrushing of combining brush geometry with miniature texture and shape. Outside of that, yes, it's basicly drybrushing the whole mini up from black and finishing it.

Is it actually a "Dry" brush or a "Wet" brush method? Given the speed and size of brush I'd guess wetish? :-)
But are you serious, painting White up from Black with GW Paints? eep!

Yes, its a drybrush method, admittedly, for white the first coat is almost a repaint of space wolves grey and was really heavy, thats not the case for the other darker examples I posted pics of.
Striking with a shader is also a wetbrush technique.
