An Ork sitting on a doghouse, well that's as aerodynamic as a Thunderhawk gunship so why not. Just say it works because "He believes he can fly, reach his hand and touch the sky". After all if he believes hard enough, thats how ork tech works.

Funniest Peanuts cartoon ever showed Woodstock sitting on Snoopys lap flying him like a helicopter (ears as the rotors) - From Wiki :-

Okay, I think your grot=yellow idea is good, here's how I think you should model him.
Get a gretchin with his arms crossed and unhappy looking, and paint him yellow (except for his face)
It would be like the Ork is just doing his thing, and he grabbed a gretchin and a bucket of paint and forced him to be a bird.
Just my view, you don't have to take it.

uh it depends... some "language" goes past the filter and others turn out like this gak.

Well, the Simpsons certainly has enough characters to do an entire army without any repeats.
I like the Red Baron idea. look forward to seeing it.
