I find painting so mind numbingly boring. maybe the new codex will give me a incentive to paint up the rest my guardsmen

Yes nothing like new models and a revamp to get you in the mood for painting

I don't have much of a consistent record, bu the first (and only) time I painted a 1500pt army was my dark elves, which were finished in about 2 months. When I'm back in school, however, that would usually work out to around half a year.

Armies:
Angels of Absolution 1500pts
Vostroyans 500pts
Dark Elves 2000pts
Warriors of Chaos 1500pts

I wonder if you mean a crappy job? 5 hours if i want to make the "all-american space marines". I do take about a couple weeks(9) to actually do a decent job...

15 min per model for an above table top job.
2 - 4 hours per model for a best paint winning army.
40 - 50 hours for a Golden Demon Honorable Mention (still havent placed *facepalm)

It used to be a matter of two or three months, but now it takes years, since I cant paint anymore for medical reasons... .

I don't mean crappy, as my painting is just above table top standard, its just with so much school work i find it hard to paint after a long stressful day.

It definitely varies on the army. For my Deathwing army which had all of 17 Terminators, 2 Land Raiders, and 3 Dreadnoughts, it took me more than a year. For my Raptor Legion army, I was really motivated to get it painted and did it within about 3 months.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

well, i've been slowly painting my orks for about a month or , though i've had them longer.

painted my friends necron army in about a month by working between and after classes...probably about 2000 or so points worth i'd guess.

700 or so points of trollblood took me, maybe a week and a half of time, not counting days i didn't paint.

probably 2 or 3 weeks worth of evenings when i painted abount 1000 point of khador for a guy

so with motivation, i'm gonna go with the 1-2 month option, without motivation, who knows

I did it in one night, once, using simple drybrushing techniques and straight colors without to much highlighting

I don't want to be human! I want to see gamma rays! I want to hear X-rays! And I want to - I want to smell dark matter! Do you see the absurdity of what I am? I can't even express these things properly because I have to conceptualize complex ideas in this stupid limiting spoken language! But I know I want to reach out with something other than these prehensile paws! And feel the wind of a supernova flowing over me! And I can know much more! I can experience so much more. But I'm trapped in this absurd body!

I can paint pretty quickly but I piant everything after it has all been clipped filed and cleaned. I paint all the bits then I build my models. It's slow go but. It pays off bigtime in the end especially when I put. A blacklight over my emperors children.

i can be a pretty slow painter but i have got a necron battalion ( 28 warriors 3 destroyers 7 scarab swarms ) and managed to paint all of that, bar 8 warriors, a heavy destroyer, a lord, 5 immortals part of a monolith and almost all of the bases in around 1 and a half months

But necrons are a little easier to paint, and when i have to do 3 layers of skin on my boyz it takes a while, hopefully i'll have my orks finished by the end of the month.
