So are they closing down the stores here too? I know there was a GW store north of Lawrence Station in Toronto and I wanted to look up its address. The GW Canada website is innaccessible, so I went to the US site. There's a store locater that lets you select a country, but Canada wasn't there. It's not as if it was only big countries either, even Belgium was listed. Belgium!

I can't access any part of the GW Canada website. A shame since I need some Wraithguard and Moonscape Terrain - neither of which my FLGS has in stock.

It's not a surprise and it's actually a very good thing from their perspective. Canada always relied on the US manufacturing plant so why did they need their own ordering and HQ system? Everything came out of the US in this case so why not have the same people handle orders for both countries.

And if the response posted earlier about their customer service is the norm then they needed to be shut down as they were hurting the hobby up there.

Oh and you guys got our games day so i'm not feeling your pain to much

We so far don't have a single major US event west of chicago this year. If we get a Vegas GT then we will but as it we're hosed

The same thing occurred to the OZ site, but both now appear on the country selector. Perhaps they're updating them to the new (bad) site design?

The Lawrence store is about 2-3 blocks North of the station on the East side of Yonge. It is kind of easy to miss.

It's still timing out for me. I repeat my thoughts in the IE compatibility thread. The GW site is a disaster and they really need to hire a professional to clean it up.

Agreed, the only advantage I had seen from it was shipping times, in theory would be quicker if it doesn't have to cross the border. However, when I order from Wizards of the Coast, it usually takes 4 days (including the day I make the order) for it to get into the country and up to where I live (not exactly a major center).

I was shocked when I made the first order with GW-US reps and it got to me in three days. And when I opened the box, what I ordered was what was in there and correctly billed on the invoice. I almost never had a correctly packed order through GW-Canada. It seems like their thinking was "Oh, we don't have any Cadian Officer blisters in stock...so instead we will send you a box of Ork Boyz." It defied logic in so many ways.

I don't see the Canadian Hobby stores closing, I imagine it will just be a lot like it is for me, they'll call a US number to make their orders and it will be faster.

On another note, the Stockist program for stores through GW-US seems way better than anything we were able to do with GW-Canada. They give us retailers all sorts of benefits for stocking all the core boxes (which we did anyways). Things like no minimum order sizes (Oh, you need that one model this weekend? Let me get on the phone and I'll have it in a few days) plus prize support quarterly for tournaments. I think the best prize support I ever got from GW-Canada were the same plastic Hall of Heroes trophies every single time, and usually they didn't get to me on time.

Well wasn't it obvious? In today's global economic downturn countries such as Canada can no longer compete in the global market. Failing their primary form of currency they have reverted back to Maple Syrup. This sticky and delicious form of monetary compensation satisfied GW employees and big wigs for a short time but as we all know you can only eat pancakes/waffles/crepes for so long. Oh Canadaaaa. . . ..

Actually you should really try the stuff on Vanilla Ice Cream, it'll knock your socks off.

As for the immalgimation, well I don't really care. The local Store Guy absolutely hates them anyways so it don'
t bother me a bit. However, I did recently pick up a version of March's White Dwarf and they said the new Army of the Dead Box is 23 dollars, usually thats a US price instead of the Canadian 30? Is this a mistake? And if it is I hope it is something that happens a lot between the two publications.

Anyways lets hope it stops at this i know times are tough but we gamers are pretty dedicated in blowing our hard earned cash on minis and what not correct??

If things keep going the way they are in the US banking system you folks will be wishing for a syrup based economy.

Edit: While I'm sure caterers everywhere are concerned about the baking system, I was, in fact, referring to the banking system.
