It's thing's like this that make you reconsider your ethic standards. I think I'd vote for the whole rabbid badger thing though, untill I can thing of something more cruel.

And I can't seriously believe that they would actually consider putting an end to his imprisonment. Seriously?! Of all the bad people looked up somewhere, be it a prison, a mental institution the death camp of tolerance, this is guy isn't just on top of the friggin' pile, he brought his own ladder!
I can't even believe how it would be to work in the place where he gets send to. It's some sort of nuthouse, so does this mean there are nurses and stuff? People who have to talk to him, actually with the goal to make him a better person??? How can a human being with a concience work with that Monster.

If you go the route of capital punishment, its all or nothing, in this case it would certainly be worth it.

This case reminds me of Shipman, who is roughly on a par with this scum. Some offences are brutal, otherx by their nature truly shock. You can expect even if you dont understand rapists and murderers, even those whose victims are children. But Fritzl jouins a rare category of criminal who's crimes you cannot understand. In Shipmans case the complete breakdown of the doctor patient trust that lead to an unknown number of murders, likely several hundred.

I am against the death penalty but I was not discomforted to hear of Shipmans fate. He had suicide commited on him a couple of years after his sentence on the slowest news day of all, New Years Day.

I would not be suprised if same happened here, so long as he lives the unique stain remains. Austria is trying its best to handle this by minimum publicity and a swift trial. despite the wealth of evidence the prosecution case was unusually short. Show part of the proof he did it, pass to the defence, pass to the judge, send him down quickly.

You know, I think sometimes that I have just seen and heard to much to be shocked anymore.

This didn't shocke me, but it interested me more than I would have thought.

Only real treatment for him is to turn him loose in GenPop. I dunno about Euro prisons, in the US? Let's just say that one of Fritzl's American analogues, Jeffery Dahmer, came to an exceedingly bad end from that particular fate.

Vigilanteism is frowned upon for all the right reasons, what happens to those who deserve it also happens to those who do not. Thus this is stamped upon thoroughly.

The only time I know where a vigilanteism has been condoned at least in the Uk has been with the open death threats issued to Myra Hindley by the mother of one of her victims. Brady and Hindley were two child killers from early 60's who were sentenced to a genuine life sentence, Hindley never accepted this and tried many methods of securing eventual release. One responce was a death threat saying that 'if she ever got out of prison she would be dead, so she should stay in and rot.' It was carried verbatim by the press, actually such a message was illegal in all sorts of ways, but noone minded and it helped reinforce the public and Home office decision that in her case life means life.
Hindley died in prison.
