I have the 1520 pre cut for Mech Vet
It holds :
210 troops
10 Chimera Hulls
4 Leman Russ Hulls
4 Sentinels or 8 HWS
3 Valkyries with wings In!!!!
Thats 14 Tanks and 3 Giant Flyers all in the same case!!!!
If you have seen the Valkyrie you know how much all that is, and this case not only holds it, but holds it perfectly and protects it from my notorious clumsiness.
I have tripped and thrown the whole case 10 feet forward. Had it fall off the roof of my car to the ground, dropped it down one full flight of stairs at the Ice House in Delaware, and not once have I so much as scratched the paint on a single model!!!
I cant even beging to count how much damage I have done to models inside my Sabol Cases.

Nice. Quick question, exactly what are the dimensions of the slots for infantry in the Battlefoam trays? I am wondering how they compare to the Sabol trays that I have now.

This sounds a LOT like what i own, except for my the chimera's; how do artillery pieces fit in the 1520 as i am still fond of my old bassies even though they basically see no use anymore i still would like to carry them. I haven't seen a tray that holds them so i might have to get it customized...

If you get the 4" thick Chimera Tray it will hold Bassies as well as any other Chim hull vehicle (possibly including Hydras)

What would you guys recommend for a Mech Eldar army of about 2000 pts with 7-8 falcon hulls? Also, if I was going to try to get a pack to hold separate armies, would I be better off getting a big pack that holds two armies, or two separate smaller ones for each?

The 72 Troop Tray?
1" x 1.5" x 1" deep or 26mm x 39mm x 26mm deep
Hope this helps?
Let me know if you need anything else. I have a kind of general load out set so I think I have a bit of everything.

Well you can get 3 of the 3x falcon hull trays plus another 6" worth of trays in the lower section of a 1520 that leave the entire upper section which can easily hold two or three armies worth of infantry.

I was looking at that, but I'd hate to have to pull all my trays out to get to an army underneath. Decisions decisions. BTW, does anybody have a picture of a bag next to something so I can get an idea of scale? How tough are these things to store in your house? How much room to they take up in the trunk of a car?

Well thats one of the bonuses of the case design, the lower case is separate from the upper case and its side loading so no digging down to get to what underneath the top level. You could fit 9 falcon hulls 12 bikes and 70 troops just in the lower half. then the zippered upper case could hold an entire other army without having to trouble the lower army.
I think the 1520 is ideal for folks like us with tons of big vehicles like valks, falcon hulls, baneblades, land raiders ect...
As for space in the trunk, I would say it takes up the majority of most contemporary car trunks. No way you could fit 2 1520s in anything smaller than a luxury car trunk.

Didn't want to make a new thread, so i'm just going to piggyback this one.
My trays arrived today, I purchased a Troop Tray & a 2-Valk Tray to better inform my LGS & my LGDC on carrying BattleFoam.
the quality of the foam is quite good and sturdy.
Troop tray with various LOTR, Warhammer Fantasy & 40k examples.
What Fits:
Standard Imperial Guard Trooper
Ork Storm Boyz (Old Design)
Ork Boyz
Fire Warriors
Gamesday Ork Warboss
Eldar Ranger
Wood Elf Glade Guard
Dark Elf Warrior
Witch Hunters Battle Nun
Easterling Archer
Space Marines (not pictured)
What Doesn't Fit
Commissar Yarrick
Vox Casters
Dire Avengers
Beasts of Khorne
Wood Elf Eternal Guard
Witch Hunters Inquistor
Champion of Tzeentch
Warrior of Chaos
Empire Gunner
LOTR High Elves
Spikey Marines (not pictured)
Holy Marines (not pictured)
Bloodletters (not pictured)
Anything that is around a Marine's Height and width should fit just fine, anything bigger with ethier be a tight fit or not won't fit at all.
Two Valks in the Two Valk tray.
They fit really snuggly which is nice, however, I cannot figure out a way of placing the stand in the tray with them without damaging the valks.
I'll be recommending both places to carry Battlefoam products, and will be bringing the trays with me Sunday for them to check them out in person.

Let me know if you need anything else. I have a kind of general load out set so I think I have a bit of everything.
Thanks for the information. Basically I am trying to find the right trays for all my IG, so I need to figure out what trays are best for slightly wider models (bayonets, special weapons, sergeants) and which are best for slightly taller models (voxes). If you know which trays would suit those needs best I'd like to know.
EDIT: I am using the sabol sized trays but the individual model holes should be the same size for the same type of tray (in theory)

Hmm, I have a smattering of trays but only really have Ork models and a few SMs. I can always tell you the measurements of the different trays I have but it may be better to go to BattleFoam and ask him a question about it. Romeo will be better able to help in this case, I think. Let me know.
