Nice, sponge you say, off to Woolworths it is lol. That's a nice Vyper btw, is it yours? You should post it up either way lol.

Thanks everyone for your support, and I look forward to posting more pictures

Yeah, it is my Vyper. I am planning on doing an Eldar army eventually. These are a couple paint scheme tests I did. I like it. It goes with their general theme. Here are a couple of pics.

You should check out my Vypers I just posted up

I love the paint scheme... except I'm not a huge fan of the yellow in the cracks, I hate it when bright colors are in crevices, or used as thin stripes... it just seems wrong to me, it might just be me tho Other than that it's fething awesome! The pattern worked out really cool and you do a MUCH better job with gems than me, I really just can't be bothered lol, although I still am getting better

I love the free hand symbol on your vyper. Your gems are looking good. Only suggestion I would give would be to do some highlighting. Maybe a grey dry brushed with white ultra highlights. That way you can see a bit more of the shape of the vyper. But they look good.

Thanks, glad ya like it. I was trying to stick with the yellow and blue theme for the Alaitoc. I put the yellow in the seams to help break up all the blue. The gems were a labor of love. Took me a while to get them close to what I wanted. The best one I did can't really be seen in the pics. It is the one in between the gunner’s feet on the gun mount.

Keep posting those pics. Can't wait to see more.

You can't really see it in the pic due to bad camera, lighting and the gloss effect but it's actually several black ink washes and as such there is shading all over it. But as I said, all you can see from the pic is glare lol.

The free hand symbol is one of my favorite parts. I'm really looking forward to painting my war walkers where I will be applying freehand vines and leaves to them, should come out awesome!

Yellow and Blue is good, and I'm not suggesting you change it, but I have a personal disliking of bright colors in cracks, like I said it just seems off to me lol. I have no suggestion for changes so you can pretty much ignore my comment lol.

All your gems look equally great in the pics! My personal favorite is the yellow gems, I can never do (not that I've tried much) yellow gems, but you have mastered it perfectly! My gems are pretty much always blue and red, Ionno I just have a preference for those colors lol.

Yeah, unless you have good lighting and a nice camera, pics rarely do the paint jobs justice. I look forward to you posting your Eldar army. Should be really good. I imagine the war walkers are going to look great.

Those yellow gems gave me fits. If you could scrape the layers of paint, you would probably find about 12 coats. Took several tries to get the yellow to look right. I still think I could make them look better. Eldar stuff is a blast to paint.

lol well your 12 layers paid off! They look great. I could never do that with my gems, I do about 4-5 layers MAX, and if I can't fix it with a slight dab or wash then I just leave it. I just did my farseer's singing spear's blade and after about 30 mins of trying to get the effect right I gave up and left it as 'ok' lol. Hopefully when it comes to doing Eldrad I'll be bothered putting in the extra time lol, or maybe I'll even go back and re-visit him.

You should post up more of your stuff, it's worth putting it up in a gallery so people can have a look!

Thanks. I will post some more pics soon. I am working on my apothecary conversion for my Deathwing squad. So far I am pretty happy with him. Need to fill in some with green stuff.

Ok more pics!

I added an extra eye ball, or THREE! I added the one I was initially gonna add to the stomach, I think that went well, kind of, it definitely added that extra 'bulk' as well as making the Inquisitor look like Tzeentch is using him. Next I added the eye ball to the hand, as requested, since it could work out ok. In hind sight I think I need to do something about the thumb side of the had since it looks kind of.. well... flat lol. Also I added an eye ball to the shoulder plate. This one turned out the best I think, as it really captures the nature of his mutations, as well as blending in with the armor!

I started painting too, not any serious work just mostly checking what the scheme will look like. I'm not sure whether I need to fix up the stomach eye with more GS, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna fix the palm and also add some GS to the arm to get rid of those horrible mould lines and make it more stringy instead of smooth.

Hope you get a good idea of what the model will look like from these, although I'm kind of regretting going for the pale green skin/mutations as he's going to look like Frankenstein's monster rofl... although that's kind of fitting for some guy who plans to lead Nurgle marines in to battle!

As always C&C welcome! Even if it is insults about my army being WAAC lol.

P.S. Don't forget to check out my other thread where I've been working on my recently received DEFILERS!

Wow, looks great. The paint scheme looks really good. I see what you mean about Frankenstein. For the skin, maybe if you added some brownish yellow wash to it, it might make it look a little more of a sickly color. For my money, the eye on the hand looks the best. But I think if maybe you dry brushed another lighter color onto the blue of the eye, it might give it more depth. A lighter blue for instance. I would also rim the eye with a darker color, either black or green. Just to help make that eye pop a little more. Of course, I would suggest using a glossy finish on all the eyes. Other than that I don't really have much else to say. Looks great. Can't wait to see it progress. What are you going to do for the base?

I might just leave it green, it adds character to the army, just like my CSM playing xbox haha.

The blue was just just quickly done using 3 dabs of different colors, dw it's not the final product!

No comments on the stomach eyeball? I'm still iffy about working on it some more...

I like the eye on the stomach, but I think it would look a little better if it was more of an almond shape. When looking at it, the right corner looks like it could show a little more eyeball. But other than that, it looks really good. I think it works well with the rest of the eyeballs. I just like the one on the hand the most.
