Good job on those models. They sure are better than some of my first, when I was 7 years old.

Are you going to teach him to paint markings on the shoulder pads as well?

WOW, you can buy beer in Sweden, when you are 7 years old???
Damn it, I knew I should have moved to Sweden when I was at that age!

Keep up the good work!

Yes I will go over freehand with him regarding the shoulder pads... I need to get better in that area as well

And yes you can buy beer, it does not have a high alcohol percentage, but it's beer, that _CAN_ get you drunk

Hey Müllers brother, I had painted at least 100 models before mine started to look as good as your first. And remember that enthusiasm beats skill any day.

A little update:

While my brother haven't really had the time to do anymore painting since last time I have...
I received my FW order (Ultramarine Venerable Dread) yesterday and begun to work on him:

Whiskey is always nice

And onther package arrived today; 5 tactical marines and some orks from the AoBR box (traded with another guy for Orc fantasy stuff)
These will be made into terrain (and the marines stripped and repainted into ultrasmurfs)

Your brother has good taste in chapters, you on the other hand, maybe he should be teaching you?

his models are pretty good for his 1st attempts, and at that age kids pick things up alot quicker, so best start while young

Back when I picked my chapter I was his age, and the smurfs were nothing more than another color scheme on the back of the tactical marines box...

The chapter that was being "advertised" like the smurfs are today was the Blood Angels back then

And heck, I love having the nids as my nemesis ^^,

oops, forgot to add the groin guard thingy...
(Yes I've done some battle damage to the dread myself, Id like to think that a venerable dread have been hit by a round or two)

you like the GW ven dread? 0_o

FW are the way to go for them (if you dont get deformed moulds)

paintings looking good though.
that dread body would look great as an ironclad

Yeah, wow, I HATE the GW original Venerable model Looks more like a bad transformers rip-off than a venerable dread (unlike the FW ones who are just ultimately badass IMO)

Anyway, since I found out that the local GW painting contest still takes in admissions I tok a risk and tried to make the plasma glowing, my first try with this ever and my technique worked

Great stuff, I really enjoy this log since my bro also taught me when I was 11. Well he didn't really teach me, but I always watched while he was painting.
Guess he was too lazy to actually teach me :') Well, he's 18 now, I'm 15, and he stopped with the hobby now. Now I'm the only one here with interest in the hobby. ;(

And like all the other comments, your brother's miniatures are way better than my first. If he continues this kind of painting, who knows what he'll be able to paint in a couple of years!

Alrighty, we FINISHED his first model today (based it) and he finished the other 4 as well (apart from basing which will, hopefully, be done tomorrow)...

We named him "Hagan Adelard" Teutonic name which means "Resolute Defender"

Happy to hear that he's inspired you to get work done

And sure it could've choped an orks head clean off right there, a part from the fact that orks blood are black in the 40k universe? ;P

Is ork blood black?? I thought it was very dark green of some sort.

Really nice model there, that your brother has made!

What is your brothers name, by the way? I don't want to call him "Muller's bro" all the time.

Anyway, really cool colors and a very nice bionic arm.

Keep it coming!

I love the dreadnaught, jus ta quick thought to really get it going, is to add a few streaks ofblood red onto the red on the claw to really make the blood effect stand out on the model. At the moment I find it blends a little too well

All in all it's looking good!

yes, I will be working on the blood, will try mixing some washes and brown colors. Sadly I only have Blood Red as far as red colors go left ATM so I couldn't work my way up from a dark red base to light highlights

Lovely work for a young kid. My first models were gak during my first interm with games workshop (LotR Gondor troops, lovely stuff). I've gotten a bit better with war 40K... but when i say a bit, i mean something like a single tetris block (mainly the sqaure one)

I know it's been a long time since the last update, for that I'm really sorry, I've had a rough last few weeks in school with finals...

Anyway, just to keep this alive I had a go at some barbed wire and added it to one of my dread's base...
