Plastic minis don't weigh enough to hurt themselves usually. I have used a similar case for some of my plastic armies. Using blisterpack foam as others have mentioned.

Yes, I have seen this bag. I use the trays to keep my bits sorted. If I wasn't so invested in Sabol cases......
Look into your local Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart, or farmer multi purpose store (Fleet Farm in my case) for sesonal pistol cases with egg shell foam. Like $15. Holds alot of marines, like 150+.

Good find at walmart. I don't know what the big deal is and trying to sell the OP on foam right now. If he was carrying them around in a cardboard box, what makes you think he cares about chipping paint a bit breaking off. The plastic paint killer/model breaker everyone is knocking is a hell of an upgrade from you old transport system.
However, move to foam when YOU deem necessary. I spend a lot of time painting my guys so I'm all about foam and preserving the hours I put into my guys.

Welcome to the internets...where its pretty much impossible to convince someone to change their mind. However, there's all these people who just lurk, who deserve good information.
Nobody's really trying to convince the OP one way or another. The biggest point of bringing out counterpoints is to provide lurkers with better information.

I used to use that for my MAGEKNIGHT figures but those were pre-painted. And even then, the more flimsy figures broke apart. I suggest try attending the GW Academy for the price of the regular GW Carrying case which you will recieve, you will also get tips on the GW hobby and meet new friends while you are at it. Waste of time maybe but, I would protect your investment...they maybe cheap plastic figures but if add them all up with the hours you spent assembling and painting, it's worth the $50...IMO.

maybe I'm missing something. If you are going to go for a carrying case with no padding, what do you need the dividers for? They are just taking up space you could put more minis in.

Ah, personal attacks. A sure sign that you don't have anything worthwhile to contribute.
For anyone transporting minis that they actually care about the paint job or breakage, its hardly effective. Without any kind of padding, you're just asking for chips and breaks.
If you don't care about the paint job for your models...then why not just toss them in a cardboard box? I used to do that with my gaunts for my original tyranid army.

Actually, that's what I do. And I care very much about the paintjobs on my minis. I'm in the hobby mostly for the painting and modeling aspect, since I'm a terrible gamer. (Also, I'm addicted to the setting. Lol. Go grimdark!!!) I carry my minis around in a battered old "Kellogs Frosted Mini-Wheats" box. Frosty-K hasn't let me down yet.

This looks like it would not only chip your models, but be inefficient due to all the empty space that could be utilized if you were using a foam tray system. Also, foam trays could be the correct height while this is static.
It's not like plastic trays like this don't have uses though, I use two similar trays to store bits. It's just that the use is definitely not finished models.

@ centurian99 I think cannerus the unbearable ( his name kinda says it all ) is saying that you voiced your view on how bad you think this system is like 3 times already and it was kinda getting naggy , like when mom or your girlfriend tells you not to leave your socks near the couch . Its not the best system but it can work with a little thought .
If toilet paper was wadded in the spaces with the figs they will be just fine , tell you the truth foam isnt the end all anyway I have had plenty of chipped or broken stuff in foam cases ( well not since I got battle foam ) especially the soft army transport cases , oh and the GW cases the law of gravity works agianst them .

If I'm targeting a group is it really personal anymore? Honestly, I'm voicing my opinion that it would work fine. Sorry if not everyone feels the urge to spend as much on their case as their minis.

I have seen and used a similar system in the past. It really comes down to how careful you are carrying the boxes to/from your mode of transportation and how much you allow your boxes to shift while the vehicle is moving. You don't use this system if you ride the bus or a bicycle. If you or your driver make harsh turns, again, this is not for you either.
I remember back when I was a member of the "old game box used to carry lots of minis back and forth" group (mine was mainly a spare Heroquest box), I was so careful with the box, I rarely had to ever touch up any paint jobs nor fix too many parts that had come unglued. Sadly, the same can not be said of what happened to the poor minis when people would pick them up and drop them off the table (or on to the table).

I use these trays too... to store bits.
I also have one similar for my Wood Elf Blood Bowl team but I've used the left over foam from my Sabol trays to keep the models from moving around.

I really don't see why people are making a big stink about this. Foam trays, plastic container compartments, boxes, whatever you may use all have a chance to effect your models. I have some battlefoam troop trays. Do I like them? yes. However these trays have worn away painting on the tops of my necron warriors' head down to the bare plastic as they fit just perfect in there but since they fit so perfectly they are constantly rubbing against the foam everytime you place them in or take them out. So I am having to ditch these and find other means of transport. So foam is not the perfect answer. Is it better then plastic containers? yes. However a little bit of foam, micro-fiber cloth, or gun cleaning whips would work well enough for your average joe.
Now I have transported my models in all sorts of containers; cardboard boxes, plastic tupperware containners, foam, cookie tins and I will have to see while sometimes the paint is chipped it is nothing I would cry about. I have had WAY more damage done to my models while they are on the table then in any kind of transport container. I feel as long as you varnish them the models should be ok.
Is the OP's way of transporting troops the best way? No and he agreed that is wasn't. However does this method work for transported units? yes. The OP's review was for your average Joe and his army. There are probably way more average Joes that want a cheap and effective way to transport their troops without carrying a cardboard box then there are users that are want to shell out 100+ on foam for their 1750+ army. Me personally I will use these to transport my additional armys that I have painted to tabletop standards (so if they do chip it won't take me but 30 seconds to repaint that area and then revarnish). I would rather spend that 100ish odd dollars to start another army/exapnd existing army then to transport a secondary army that I bring out every once in a blue moon. I would not use these on an army I spent many many hours painting.
Also for metal models foam is a must.

If it bothers you that much... a massive roll of bubble-wrap will set you back $5, and can be cut to fit each individual compartment of the tacklebox.
I previously used tackle-boxes lined with bubblewrap / felt / cotton; now I'm constructing my own modular foam carry-case.
