My biggest plroblem with it is the multilaser. That thing is a weenie IG weapon, completely unworthy of the Adeptus Astartes.

Upgrade that thing to something that the Smurfs actually use, and I could get on board with it

Edit: Even better, turn the multilaser into a multi-melta, and use the model as a "walking" speeder!

Cam2designs wrote:Everyone seems to be focusing on the modeling, but what about the playability? What rules would be used? Have to be houserules/opponent permission to "use as" it seems to me. I guess you could play them off as a squadron of bikes or skimmers...or maybe a Dread? Otherwise, very cool unique work.

Errr yeah, thats because this is the 'Painting & Modeling' forum. ; )

Adding the leg pieces and the few pieces of armor, really bring out the marine in your light assault walker. Nice job can't wait to see it painted.

hello there guys,

thanks for your responses,

ill adress the problems you've all brought up!

Firstly, the marine strapped in, yes the straps look flimsy, but IMHO he doesnt need and straps atall! all i have to do is say that where his rear power armour plate would clip onto the backpack, it instead clips onto the walker's hook up point! i'll try and find a part to use as a buckle, like the four point plug in one you get in race cars,

and the multilaser, im not going to put a heavier weapon on such as a assault cannon, or you may as well pay the extra 20-30 points for a dreadnought! and this is an assault walker, so would be fast attack. Also, the space marines have made use of multilasers, anybody read the book Warrior Brood ??? Also, if your fighting a SM or CSM army, or any units with a half decent (4+) save, then the AP 6 doesnt matter, cos if your fighting another SM armie then you'd have to have an ap 1 / 2 / 3 weapon, and there arnt cheap (points) to come by, so haveing the STR 6 is goo, wounds marines on 2's , so cant complain.

oh and the idea of giving it a multi melta and using it as a landspeeder... bit iffy, as this has a twin linked heavy flamer, the landspeeder doesnt, infact done of them have this combo of multi melta and heavy flamer ? do they ?

glad you like the getting rid of the chicken legs mod thing, ill get too on the bely buckle,

cheers guys,

Matt

A weapons effectiveness is directly proportional to the uses IQ.
