It depends on how much your ISP charges for data downloaded.
You can have a website with unique URL for £3.99 a month.
Of course it takes a lot of work to keep it fresh. If that isn't done from love, you are going to want to make some money.

Dude, before now, I've always avoided joining in on some of the pattiness I see around here.
If you have a bone to pick with PixelGeek or his site, do so privately and don't tear him down publicly regardless of whatever his "offenses" to you have been. Many in the gaming community, including myself, have enjoyed his site and the time and effort he puts into it. You airing your "Rain Man" notebook of grudges here contributes nothing and makes you look bad.

Tear him down? Is that what I did?
I simply pointed out that expecting a wargaming "hobby" site to support you is insane.
That's my message here.

All I'm going to add -as an administrator.
It doesnt take a lot of money to run a website.
If you are getting that much traffic it is easy enough to monetize it to pay of your ends.

Suck it up, chase your dream and stop closing the site trying to milk people.
Telling people he wants the site to "support him".
Get real. Its a glorified catalogue and minor company marketing tool.
I guess being used for two hours a day by wannabe GW's blows.
Funny how no one in the UK uses the site too. Check the traffic - that's a large bite of the revenue pie you so desperately crave being wasted
This constitutes trolling; you are obviously trying to provoke a negative reaction by saying inflammatory things. This behavior is not allowed on Dakka.

He mentioned that he's migrating to a new server and he should be back up and posting news Friday.

Is he the guy that runs/mods Heresy Online?
Just to update the folks here, a dedicated server has been bought and hosting is currently being paid for by the fine folks at Battlefront. Since I'm the only person on it the site should be a bit snappier and no-one is going to care if I use all the system resources.
As an added bonus the owner/head admin at the new hosting company appears to have found the problem that was going to get the site kicked off of my previous ISP. Too bad the folks at Inmotion weren't as interested in problem solving.
I am currently keeping the site up and running while I look for a solution to the other part of my problem, the total lack of time in my life :-)
What this ultimately entails I am not sure but I am still talking to people and looking at options.
Thanks to everyone who sent along comments and offers of help. Automatically Appended Next Post: legoburner wrote:returns a completely blank page now. Not looking too positive :S

I'm wondering about that too... is that why there seems to be a big gap between the last podcast and then next one?
It is more of a coincidence really but I have been working 60 hour weeks ( makes it easier to post more here, but almost impossible to record and edit the show) Microsoft has this thing they call
Q4 Execution!!!
What it basically means is that all of us who make our living on the edges of the Microsoft Behemoth are sent scurrying like mad things at the end of the fiscal year. So hopefully in July things will be back to normal, but withoug Zac it will definitely be a very different show. I will probably do another re design and just re launch the show across the board, assuming im able to find the time.
I also had to close a business, The Rogues Den, a hobby gaming store, cofee shop and clothing store (sort of) back in 05 so I know how heart breaking it is to walk away from something you built.
