Really nice work with the adeptus mechanicus!
I love the "Death Orks of Krieg" idea! I would use them to make some kind of orkish parody of the Death Korps Of Krieg, could be fun. They will look somewhat like the old goff orcs though. Still, cool idea!

These really are excellent. Great greenstuff work on the skitarii. I also like the archo-flagellants, I don't agree with Kungfuhustler's comment that they look too low-tech to be Adeptus Mechanicus troops, I think that the concept of mindless, expendable troops works really well with your plan to use them as penal legion troops. The execution of this concept is also very good, I can't wait to see them completed. I also like their degenerate human look, I think it really adds a gothic feel to them totally in keeping with the 40k universe. It also illustrates the fact that the Adeptus Mechanicus cares very little for people: they are simply functional objects to be 'upgraded' and used.

Hey all, just a quick note off-topic.
I've recently been made redundant, so I'm trying to take my commission painting full time for a short while, to see how it goes.
Check out my website at http://clankerrminiatures.blogspot.com/.
Please note- I could make you units or vehicles to the exact match of those made in this thread, so If you liked my Adeptus Mechanicus, send me an email if you want a unit or army building!
Also check out the eBay store for currently listed items. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/clankerrminiatures
Thanks,
Jon

Good luck mate and I'm looking forward to the tutorials. I'd second the idea of a Knights Helm for the Imperial Knight. A lot of the conceptualising and conversions are truly inspired and inspiring for when I turn my hand to Adeptus Mechanicus!

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Finally got some bits and made a start on the Chimera.
Based on an AT-TE from Star Wars, of course, but I hope it looks Imperial Guard enough.
Once the details are added and the typical 40k rivets are applied it will probably fit a lot more.
Any comments and criticisms are much appreciated.

Something along the lines of an AT-TE from Star Wars...
The difference will be that mine should have a flat roof, so my command squad can stand on top.... I'll also be doing a glass screen all the way around this platform, perhaps with strategic information projected onto the screen and with the obligatory bullet holes and other damage..... We'll see soon enough.

When you call an intimate moment with your partner "the Assault Phase"
Is that followed by a pile-in move?
That brings a whole new meaning to the term "Hit and Run"
Can that be following a deep strike, or do you have to wait until the next round? |

Ah yes, I've seen these before and have actually been using the images as a bit of a reference.
Thing is, I'm one of those that tends to try and use all GW bits, plus my own sculpting, partly as one of the places I play regularly is Warhammer World at Nottingham. Also- I'm not that impressed with the gasmasks, I reckon I could do better, nor do I like the faces of the Orks without masks, as they don't particularly match the GW faces. The coats are very good though, and I only hope I can make my coats look equally good, but probably not.

I can see what he means on the low tech a little bit. Still amazing models but why not try like a control box on each of their backs with just a few wires justting out into their bodies and one to say the face mask. Would give it a little more of a mechanicus feel. If not hey whatever I still think they look great and would love to hear on how to do those scrolls. The Greenstuff-fu is stong in you I can sense it _

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |
