I would really like to hear what some people use for profiles for their Daemon Princes that make them so awesome. Mine always seems to die, pretty quickly, tho it usually kills its worth in points.
I usually give my daemon prince - wings, nurgle, and warptime
Or alternatively - wings, tzeentch, warptime, and gift of chaos.
I know people generally dont pick gift of chaos but so far i have had good luck in changing things into chaos spawn.
This is all using the current 4th edition codex.

As the Eldar realized their mistake and saw that no hope was left they fled.

Yeah that is right i'm using the 5th ed rulebook rules.
As for your orks if I got a 2000 point army I would wipe your orks off the map.

Have you tryed giving them deamonic flight as well if you want to see how mine worked out for me just check out 1500 Point Khorne Chaos Army List

If your opponent is intelligent, 3+ save and 4 wounds isn't going too terribly far, even if you give the DP mark of nurgle. They're not bad, by any means, but daemon princes are pretty easy to take down if you're facing a decent opponent.

my very first game i played the opponent was a chaos and eldar vs me which was orks and eldar
i had about 50 orks and warboss and a looted tank
the tank blows up kills 20 orks standing around it and the eldar take out around 20 more
then on my turn me being stupid (not realizing the daemon princes strength) charges it with my warboss...
i managed to take it out =P
