Seeing as all animals on earth had red blood, it goes to show that hemoglobin is an effective oxygen carrier and is probably similarly used in xenobiology. I still feel uncomfortable with the "green-chlorophyll" idea. If they can produce their own sugars, why do the fight? Why don't they just vegetate like any other chlorophyll-bearing organism? It'd be a lot more efficient.

I agree, black is the best compromise.

Okay, off topic but they fight because they're genetically created to do so and be able to constantly replace their troops (hence the 'spore' effect) that's why they pop out of the ground, like daisies!

I think it's black in WHFB, and Gretchin have black blood according to fluff I think.

Dawn of War depicts normal Ork blood as being red, so I accept that as canon.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I envision ork blood as starting out black when coming from the wound, but turning red when exposed to oxygen.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.
