The opening to Suikoden 3 was great. Everyone i showed it to loved it. It was a montage of the events of the game out of context set to music, but the way it was cut together and the epicness of some of the scenes just blow us away and got us pumped to play the game.
Also the opening to the original Wild Arms 1 for the PS1 was amazing.
I'm a fan of the Half Life approach to immersion and storyline where its not like watching a minimovie but being a part of one.
The whole intro sequence in the first two Half Life games have been the best imo of the genre, and in the first one I liked the whole beginning sequence where you push the cart that causes the cataclysmic sequence.

I like pretty much all of the DoW intros, the Flood cutscene from halo, and some of the cutscenes from Saints Row 1 and 2. Also the starcraft Terran vids are pretty cool
anyone else notice in the "Even the gods know my name" DoW cut scene that his plasma pistol turns into a bolt pistol when he shoots the librarian and then back to a plasma pistol after?

The team had just finished a very harrowing pilgrimmage accross spira (a continent about the size of england), facing many many dangers. this continent is under threat by a huge flying whale of death called Sin. The goal of this pilgrimmage is so Yuna can get the Final Summoning, a ritual that will force sin into remission for a few years, but it will cost the life of yuna and one of her guardians. this technique has been used for over a thousand years. This scene is where they say "feth the final summoning. lets find a better way"
