I gotta agree with Neconilis. I agree that Battlefoam is probably the best product on the market, but there's no way I can afford the price tag and shipping costs.

Rifle cases are tremendously good value. Even in the UK.

I own a KR Aluminum Multicase, which has served me well enough, were it not for two incidents where it's fallen from a low height while the latches have been open. This has resulted in damage to the hinges which will in time, I suspect, become critical. As it is, the lid won't close of its own accord anymore thanks to a hinge bolt being damaged.

I'm also thumbing up this site, great stuff and service.
This site seems like a fantastic supplier, I love how you can customise the foam so much, and the price is lovely too for the UK.
Anyone bought a Kaiser One from there before?

I know people from work who buy from here. Make your own custom case online.

I recommend BattleFoam. They are amazingly sturdy!!! I weigh 190 lbs. and yet I sat on mine while it was empty and it still held up under my weight. The foam is also very rigid, and is actually very hard to squish. They can make custom cuts in their trays, have standard cut-outs for almost every GW model out there, and you can fit almost double the models in the same space you can with a GW case. You certainly get what you pay for.
Look, I'll even give you a link where they have Tyranid standrad trays:
http://battlefoam.com/catalog.php?item=116&catid=59&ret=catalog.php%3Fcategory%3D59
Also, they are expensive, but I really recommend you try it. Every single person on Dakka who flames and/or disregards BF and people who use BF bags are ones who do not own, and most likely have never seen a BF bag.

Battlefoam products are great but if you're outside the states then shipping becomes an issue. Especially if your army changes and you just need a tray or two.

I have to say that, after checking out the BF site and hearing such consistently high praise, there is no doubt where my foam will be coming from. The fact that you can select shapes and tailor layouts is perfect for a customization freak like me. To be honest, I would buy them at double the cost. However, one criticism: the bags themselves are aesthetically unappealing and pricey. Looks wise, the smaller the case, the less of an issue it is. Some of the bigger cases on the other hand (1520, I'm looking at you) are bulky looking and seemingly awkward to carry (by hand, or the comical backpack approach) and damn expensive. Also, after reading this thread, it seems like the case makes shipping a real pain in the butt.
Therefore, I plan to buy the foam inserts which offer tremendous value and find an alternative case. My ideas thus far: (1) A plain aluminum case for camera or other such equipment. This is cheaper, nondescript (in case I don't want people to know what I'm carrying, and I don't care for logos, EVEN for an awesome company like BF), and looks way more stylish. (2) A small carry on luggage bag. Again this is cheaper, multipurpose (travel-how many t-shirts, socks, and underwear have you fit in a BF case?), and convenient (wheels).
In both cases, the durability is superior to the BF case. I don't care if you can sit on it--there is no way that its tougher than a metal case or a bag designed for travel by plane. Really, the BF site gives to the measurements for the inserts. Why not just find a cheaper, more durable, better looking case?

I don't mean to hijack your thread. But I have something of a pickle.
I'm looking for an army case for my Necrons. I have about 1500 points atm, but I'm probibly going to expand on it later. But the thing is, I need the case to be able to be able to fly with me to Albuquerque to visit my girlfriend some day (she moved away about 2 years ago). I've been looking around BattleFoam, but I'm not sure what I should get. I don't plan on flying soon, but I don't want to buy something new just to fly them over with me, so I can get it bit by bit.

Just for all you Brits complaining about BattleFoam's shipping: http://www.waylandgames.co.uk/battlefoam/cat_504.html . Not only do they carry BF products, they're also apparently getting the equipment to be able to do the custom laser cutting that BF does.
And at the other end of the price spectrum: the box my laptop came in + a trip to a local upholsterer = a dirt cheap case. A few bucks for some off-cuts of foam that they'll usually gladly cut to size for you and you're set. Granted you'll have to cut the slots yourself, but as long as you're not the restricted-to-safety-scissors type, it's not that difficult.

I'm gonna agree with this too as I was going to post the exact same model.
It's a very cheap case that is well regarded for both it's model and gun carrying capacity. Plus the dimensions are almost perfect for battlefoam trays.
