However - I think the canopy is a weak point! The design is so uniform and lacks detail. Where are the rivets and asymmetric support structure, bullet holes and cracked window and ... It's a focal point ina gorgeous thing crammed with detail and narrative and suddenly both are lacking.

One day I'll be good enough. one day.

In all seriousness, I just built it based off of the Aeronautica model. When I was done the clear plastic looked odd, so I misted it lightly with clear coat to make it opaque. I had all kind of cool stuff in in cockpit, you just can't see it now unless your up close to it. I may redo it at some point, Its just a pain. you can't glue clear plastic without marring it, so I used clay to hold it all in place. If I re-did it, I'd have to take the whole window frame apart. I always wind up touching up my big pieces before a huge outing, so I'm sure I'll knock it out before my next big Apocalypse game. (Obviously not the one I'm doing in a few weeks.)

At migsulas suggestion, I re-worked the canopy. The more I thought about it, the more I realized it was a weak point. I made the opaque front and back windows clear, added rivets, and painted it all red so as to flow with the plane better.

A huge improvement, thanks for the tip migsula.

I also built a flight stand for it, gonna take it out for its first game on Friday.
