I vote for a Tournament Armies forum.
It would be unique in the 40k boards scene.

As previously noted, Dakka has always been a home for competitive gaming, and many competitive tournament players do post and discuss lists here. That said, the amount of detailed tactical content does vary over time. I spent probably my first five years on here constantly talking elder tactics and army list construction, but I haven’t had as much time or inclination in the last five years. And a lot of tournament players also choose to discuss tactics on private club websites and the like.

I would strongly encourage anyone who’s interested to start tailored threads of the type you describe. Solicit opinions of the best lists, tactics to counter them, and tactics to do so using given armies. These are excellent subject for posts, and the existing Army Lists and Tactics forums have always been intended to include them.

If you really want tournament advice, look up Stelek.

Dakka has very good discussions in tactics on specific units what makes them work etc..

Timmah, there are an infinite number of games that can be played with hundreds of different units, each having a slightly different effect and capability based on the infinite number of ways your opponent can build his army and both of you deploy and play.

This isn't MTG where you can draw the right 7 cards in the opening hand and win before your opponent plays a card.

There will never be a 'best' list...except mine.
