to tell th truth, EC are just obsessed with
1)prefection
2)loud music
3)COCAINE!!!
Its the cultists (and deamon(et)s) that follow them around that you have to worry about, personally, I think the DE would be worse, they do slanneshi... things AND are the ultimate tortuers.

first dark eldar don't tourture to stay away from slaneesh they do it out of sher enjoyment they belive that the only reason there is other races in the galaxy is becase they are toys given to them by the gods and on several occasions dark eldar have been known to worship the chaos gods

Heck master humoculi have learned how to bring you back from pretty much dead just to tourture you again but as for EC they will get board after awile and just kill you as for DE if they get board(which is almost never) they will put you in tanks filled with wierd liqued which keeps you alive and in intense pain. so I vote for DE.
and yes most dark eldar are afraid of slaneesh but some worship her and some are even still loyal to their craftworld

Um Dark Eldar by a LOOOONG shot. They have the haemonculi, beings whose sole purpose in life has become the art of torture. They know more about anatomy and how to use it to hurt you then any other being in the galaxy. For the EC your something to have fun with, but to the Haemonculi, your an instrument that screams, and they know just how to play you.

DARK ELDAR. Humans are have insuffiecient levels of intelligence to provide torture as great as the Dark Eldar. The only person to ever escape comorragh stated that even after the tortures, his pain grew worse and worse every time he moved (that meant breathing, too.) Emperor's Children enjoy you, but to the Dark Eldar, you're a toy. Torture is their life.

Just a note, Dark Eldar collect prisoners to stave off Slaanesh's grip on their souls(ie trading the prisoner's soul for theirs to get a little more life). The worst thing that can happen to you is to be given to the dark eldar "scientists" the haemonculi (especially urien rakarth): http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Haemonculi . The emperor's children at least have a pleasure side to them, not solely pain. You may even be offered to join the EC(or at least become a cultist) if you can pretend to be as crazy as they are. The dark eldar would never give you that option and the only reason they took you in the first place is to either torture you for fun or to sacrifice your soul, otherwise you would be killed on the battlefield.
