No, it's more like a double-blind Bloodbowl. There's push-backs, assists, attacker downs, and the goal of the game is to get units into the enemy's end-zones.

I must admit hearing "So it's like Stratego!" is the most common feedback I've heard. I think it's because Stratego is more popular - at one industry convention I went to there were five different version of Stratego being sold to retailers, though they were really just Stratego with different pictures pasted on. The notion that it's like Stratego usually doesn't last beyond the introductory game. I'm rather proud of how it works, game-wise.

It's double-blind because I was experimenting with methods of playing double-blind in wargames like 40k, and it occurred to me that playing double-blind with Space Hulk-style blips was a game in itself.

I should probably point out that Litko's Space Corridor system also doubles quite well as a system for making variable size and shaped square-gridded game boards.
