You submerge it like people have been saying. As for mixing it or not, it should be okay in pure Simple Green but test it on a chunk of sprue from the same rhino if you've still got any of the sprues lying around. If the plastic used was cheap and of poor quality (GW has begun outsourcing to China now so this may be the case with some kits) then you may want to dilute it some. But test it on a sprue first. Leave it in for a day or two. If the piece of sprue becomes overly soft or seems to loose it's angled corners, dilute it before dropping the rhino in it.

It should be okay though. Simple Green hasn't changed it's ingredients (to my knowledge) and it doesn't melt plastic. It does soften it some, but it's not too bad. It's still strong enough, just be careful if you're putting a knife or pin-vice to it for battle damage as it'll cut with much less effort and you don't wanna knife yourself or accidentally cut off a huge chunk.

Why are you guys telling this poor kid to strip the Rhino?

A whole new Rhino is about $25. A gallon of Simple Green is about $20, plus the effort of dealing with it.

Just get a new Rhino.

A New Rhino might be $25, but as was said, Simple Green can be filtered when you're finished and reused. Plus that new Rhino will take up glue, primer, and paint. Which means you'll need to buy more sooner. Stripping it is free of charge. A new Rhino isn't. It might cost him a few days of soaking the tank and a few tedious hours with a toothbrush, but the result far outweighs the cost here.

EDIT: Plus, he lives in North America. So he has access to the wonders of Costco. You can buy 2 spray bottles of Simple Green for $10 there. That's more simple green than he'll hopefully ever need at just under half the cost of a new tank.

REMEMBER!

Thin your paints and use several coats if needed.

Then, you wont have lost detail.

Looks like crappy tire, Zellers, Costco all stock it

But my question is, which product do we actually use? Looks like there's a whole range from glass cleaners to degreasers. I'd assume we'd just want the "All-Purpose Cleaner"?

Yep the all purpose cleaner works wonders. I buy it in gallon jugs at my local Target.
