What units should be next up for this army?

Also, in an ironic twist on something you threatened to do previously, I'm going to make another promise.
If the package is not signed for, it will be returned to me. If it is returned to me, I will set out everything that is in the box of import and burn it. I will watch it go up in flames.
The video that I shoot of it will be posted to YouTube. I will email you a link, as well as post links to it in open forums.
Remember when you threatened me that, if I sent you anything, you'd burn it and send me a link to the video, Matthew? Well, this way, you'll get what you want (burned models), regardless - MagickalMemories

Love Traitor Mechanicus, and love mining themes. It's cool how you made them look bedraggled and traitoresque by leaving elements like rough beards and bare feet.

Am I close in guessing that the Sentinel lascannon was once a mining laser?

Indeed. I like to view everything in the army as mining tools converted into weapons. The squad heavy weapons are a perfect example as is the sentinal.

I was going to mod out the tanks alot to fit the theme but I figured some tanks wouldnt hurt.

The start of the penal legion troopers. basically a mix of guard, zombie, ghoul and whatever other fantasy bitz i can find. The bases on them arent done not are any of the paint jobs.

My question is, are they "to" fantasy to fit into a renegade guard army?

I like. On paper I wouldn't have thought zombie-ish models would really look chaos, but they work well with that colour scheme.

Couldnt sleep last night so finished up painting this guy to match the ren guard army. Counts as a traitor Mechanicus "Obliterator" robot. First of 6.. (used in apocalypse sized games)

Weather and chipped paint still need to be added but frankly i was half alseep when painting last night.

Comments always welcome, good or bad .

That 'obliterator' is awesome loving the dark mechanicus theme.

The tracked heavy weapons mounts and the sentinel design has been something I have considered for a mechanicus force myself. I will have to get started on ths sas adept-mech seems to be the way to go!

The Obliterator looks awesome. The Penal Legion look great as well but I'd be tempted to consider giving them all Lasguns as Penal Legionnaires are meant to have them as their weapons. The Pit Fighter Ogre is still one of the best models they've produced and your ake on it has produced a wonderful Nork!

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Glad I could help.

Start of a plague tower for them. They arent really nurgle per say, so ive gone for a more tech look on the tower itself. It still needs alot of putty work, rivets, detailing and then weathering before painting.

Sorry for the blurryness, ill try and get better pics as it progresses.

Tracks are not glued on, and the tower itself will ride a bit higher on the tracks then where its placed now.

The back, hard to make out the hatchs and the bottem defiler part thats a ramp that opens.

Start of one set of tracks. Ran out of card and other smaller rods to detail it.

That Plague Tower looks impressive and it's certainly Lasguns for the Penal Legionnaires I just checked the Codex. Actually another idea for them would be captured loyalists about to be herded to their deaths like in Storm of Iron........

I had considered using chained loyalists but decided against it. I see this army as more the drags of society, rather then the mentality to herd up the enemy for cannon fodder. The tech priests simply se the scum that lives in the caves as cannon fodder already. I guess lasguns for the backs it is.

----------------------------------

More detailing done, some putty work and one set of tracks almost done.

Close up of the tracks. yes, mix of nurgle wood and streel. Note its nurgle wood, not regular wood...

And yes, the tracks were a real pain to make. And now im worried its to big. :(

Small details and the other track finished, no pics of it until its attached. In fact, next set of pictures will show it finished and ready for paint.

Start of the 3 man crew. Think servitors of nurgle. They need ALOT of work still. 1 will be manning the mortar on top, one will be clibing the back ladder and the other will be standing guard with a plague type rifle. they count as nurglings lol.

I like the tracks on the plaguetower. to me, it says slow and unyielding alot more then wheels. Keep up the good work!

On a side note, how's the lord of battles progressing?

A Squeaky Waaagh!!

Camkhieri: "And another very cool thing, my phones predictive text actually gave me chicken as an option after typing robot, how cool is that."'

Meercat: "All eyes turned to the horizon and beheld, in lonely and menacing grandeur, the silhouette of a single Grot robot chicken; a portent of evil days to come."

I agree on the tracks over wheels.

As for the Lord of Battle... Hes about 80% done build wise, ive just been a bit busy with the wife being back from the hospital, day job kicking my rear and the commissions finally finish off my own personal time. (shrug) oh well. He will be finished before the new year. Paint and all.

Hard to make out because my camera is my phone but there is textured card there to make it look like steel grating.

More work here and there, namely GS work.

Ill get completed pictures when i get the new camera. As for paint scheme, I relaly do need some help... Nurgle rot, or painted to match the renegade guard army it goes with?

For the painting how about Nurgle's Rotting of the existing Army colour scheme an intensely weathered version of the army scheme would look cool and both tie the army together and define it as different.
