At Adepticon stealth gives +1 to the models cover save because they've change how the rules work. You have to live with such things ... any where else, well that a different kettle of fish and you play by GW's rules and stealth give +1 to the units cover save.

Not necessarily. Maybe where you play. I'm happy using the Adepticon FAQ, which they do at every tournament around here.

If you bothered to read Tri's post, he stated that "any where else, they play that the rule gives +1 to the unit." I was simply stating that that is incorrect, because we do play Adepticon FAQ around here. I never implied that where I play is the only place where 40K is played. No need to be a prick .

Puma713: Your point seems largely tied to the idea that since they state in things like Stubborn that the rule is conveyed to the squad, and Stealth doesn't say that, it doesn't.
I'm with you on the basic logic, but it doesn't apply in the Stealth example. Telion having Stealth doesn't mean the whole unit has Stealth. Telion having Stealth means Telion has the benefit of the Stealth USR. The benefit of the Stealth USR is the unit gains +1 to it's cover save.
What you are thinking of would be true if the wording of Stealth said model rather than unit. Then it would matter that it doesn't have a notation to convey it to the entire squad.
Is it intended to work that way? I have no idea. It does work that way by RAW though. Play it differently if you and your opponent agree to house rule it, but don't expect that you are entitled to that house rule without opponent consent.

INAT FAQ is not used across the board, is not written by GW or used by GW.
Just because its part of the circuit doesn't mean GW has anything to do with how they run. IF the INAT FAQ was gospel then it would appear on the GW website. It doesn't because it isn't. If you want to play all your games to rules in the INAT FAQ that's fine but don't be surprised if its used in other places, people disagree with you.
I agree that there is an intentional separation between the INAT and GW FAQs, most likely for legal issues. However, I personally find it amusing that if you look at the INAT FAQ intro, it states...
- FAQ written and edited by: Jon “yakface” Regul
- FAQ ruling council is comprised of: Jon “yakface” Regul, Bill “Centurian 99” Kim, Hank “Muwhe” Edley, Greg “Inquisitor_Malice” Sparks, Matthias Weeks, Christopher Mehrstedt, Dave Creswell, Colin Vasconcelles and Jeff Chua.
Then at the end of the Tau, Necrons, Dark Eldat, Daemonhunters, Eldar, Chaos Space Marines and Orkz FAQs downloadable from the GW website, they all have as their ending paragraph...
- Thanks to Jon ‘yakface’ Regul and his FAQ ruling council.
The two may not be "officially" linked, but there seems to be a lot of borrowing from INAT for the GW FAQs.
And for my own two cents worth, I think the INAT FAQ is off the mark on this one. Completely aside from the "model/unit" argument, doesn't it make sense that someone with the skill to "...guide a Battle-Brothers shot" might be able to hand out the occasional tip on being quiet and hiding behind the big leafy things?
