GW is either Evil or Stupid, and the truism is to never attribute to Evil that which can be attributed to Stupid.

Ergo, GW plumbs the depths not otherwise achieved without multi-self-generational inbreeding.

For the more touchy-feely, sensitive sort of soul who objects to harsh terms such as "evil" or "stupid" how does "misguided" or in some cases "willfully dishonest" grab you?
GW's business decisions over years have certainly often been the former and sometimes strayed into the latter.
Is that better?
I believe in calling things as they are, rather than beating around the bush or playing word games.

GW is not a person.

Calling it "evil" or "stupid" is like calling the actions of the USA "evil" or "stupid". Incomprehensible to outsiders, perhaps, the result of a dynamic small-r republican political system balancing powers through the representation of competing interests, sure, but calling it "evil" or "stupid" is pretty much addressing yourself with those schoolyard labels.

Maybe all those high-falutin' book learnin' words gets in the way of "callings things as they are" (aka "however my prejudices allow me to see things"), but holding that opinion simply underlines the poverty of your first opinion rather than denying it.

@Nurglitch: I'm very sorry that you didn't clue in on the slim possibility that I may have been exaggerating things just a little bit for effect. Please accept my humblest apologies for offending your senses with the inclusion of such crass language as "Evil" and "Stupid" in response to your immediately previous usage of same.

Ah Nurglitch, you never change. You must see a grey area in every topic and seem to be afraid of forming a definite opinion on anything. You also love to play word games, so much of what you say should be discounted as an affected attitude designed to cause outrage and make your mark feel stupid...aka trolling. (weren't you banned from Warseer for trolling after all?) Fortunately I know your game.

Let me put it this way...GW is not a single person and thus cannot be said to be "stupid", "evil", "wrong", or whatever. However only a fool or a troll would not realise (or more likely pretend not to realise) that when a person labels GW like that, they are in fact refering to the actions of the management that steers the company rather than ascribing human emotions and behavior to a non-human entity like a game company.

Thus when I correctly point out that in the past some of GW's actions (such as to grab one at semi-random the lead scare of the early '90s) have been purposely dishonest, I am in fact refering to their staff rather than the company itself....something everyone knows, or should know.
