Gaming at clubs (there are two I travel to regularly) and I may try at a store also (NOT a GW store) - even if it is full of smelly yu-gi-oh players at the invite of the manager.
Painting and modelling is done at home.
The 'poota is used for forum surfing and ideas. Gaming is done with dice across a table, f2f irl, not over the net.

I do my painting and assembly at home and my gaming at the store. I'll game other peoples' places, but I would only paint at someone's place if I was going to be there long enough to justify all of the effort involved in moving the painting and modeling supplies. So, unless I'm spending the weekend somewhere, the paint stays home.

Gaming at the store or the local club. Hobby time 90% at work on night shifts requires a bit of forward planning on what paints/tools I need but I can get 6 or so hours hobby time a shift.

I play at my FLGS but I prefer to do my modeling and painting at home. When the store does have painting days, I will go play a game and watch and try to pick some info up from people, I just more comfortable painting and modeling at home, than in front of other people.

I do everything at home or a friend's house. Why? Because, over the years that I have been part of the hobby, all of our local shops have closed. Now the closest store that stocks wargames/has gaming tables is almost a two hour drive away. And that guy seems to be in the process of screwing his own business over. Last time I was in there, he whispered to me about his secret plan to throw out all of the Magic players, so the wargamers could have more space. Despite the fact that the aforementioned Magic players seemed to make up the majority of his business.
I have played a grand total of one game in a store. My Black Templars vs. my buddy's Space Wolves, 3rd edition rules. What I learned from that game was, "Don't take advice from people watching the game. Not even if they claim to play the same army as you." I got some dumb tactical advice that game. Although, my own gameplan of "assault the the Space Wolves" may not have been the best idea either.

There's a comic store in my home town that decided to carry GW products because he got a lot of inquiries about it. Now, despite that he has GW products on the shelf hardly anyone is buying it. Why? He doesn't support the product. There are zero game tables in the entire store and he makes no effort to change this. I've even offered my services for FREE, but they fell upon def ears. The most recent news of this store is he's hurting for money because he put a big chunk into carrying GW product that he can't sell. My attitude towards it is, if local gamers have no where to game other than their homes, why bother purchasing from a retailer that has nothing to offer?

I call in at my local GW regularly, but never take my models (except the odd one to show off ).
The FLGS is a bit less convenient, but I pop in to show my face and occasionally buy some new bits.
As I work from home, I can sit at my paint table, waiting for the phone to ring, doing paperwork while the paint dries (beats watching it! ).
Most of our games are done here at my place. (Small group, others' houses are far away or not got room or both)
There are a couple of clubs nearby, but I rarely go. Too much hassle to pack up all my models, arrange to meet people there, not drink 'cus I'm driving, when I've got a decent table and terrain in my living room!

I used to play and model exclusively at home, but since moving to Boston, most of my games have been at my FLGS. I still game at home sometimes, and all my modeling time is spent here.

Home for models and a few games. The nearest FLGS is 40 miles away and has 1 tiny table even though they sell GW. Wish there was one closer!
