The primary reason that a zombie would never, ever work in the real world is that dead cells are incapable of metabolism and therefore incapable of carrying out the functions that make the body work. A dead body in perfect, pristine condition is still dead because it is biologically incapable of doing anything. The muscle cells would never contract because the chemical machinery that does so simply wouldn't exist anymore. A zombie, chemically cannot function whether you decide that it needs to eat or not.
But in the spirit of the thread, I'll put up a plan. Hmm...
What my family owns
Multiple rifle-type semi automatic firearms
several hundred rounds of ammunition
a boat
a home that isn't too defensible, especially in a subdivision
Boat launches that are already overcrowded on a good day
Multiple vehicles
2 generators (for the hurricanes, you see)
Multiple freezers
If we decided to we could stock up on food, but the suburb/city we live in would become a very large killing ground, so we would have to leave for less populated grounds. Luckily, Louisiana is more or less clusters of highly populated areas surrounded by very small rural communities with large empty spaces in between, so all we'd need to do it migrate somewhere sparse and set up some decent living conditions within short distance of a bullet supplier to continue hunting. Or we may simply go bowhunting and save the guns for the zombies. My dad and I are probably good enough shots to take care of ourselves, but I know the rest of the family isn't, so defense would be sticky at best.

Dakka. You need more of it. No exceptions.

What are you talking about? They're Space Marines, which are heroic. They need to be able to do all the heroic stuff. They fight aliens and don't afraid of anything. -Orkeosarus

The best tactics are to stop believing that there's gonna be a zombiepocalypse and to stop making threads about it.

.
Perhaps so,but equaly uncalled for is "thread policing" simply becuase your not particularly interested in the topic.

Not really because I'm not interested in the topic, more because there are like 10 threads on this topic alone. But you wouldn't have thought of that one, would you?
Now get back on-topic.
