Oh so many moments to choose from.
When my friends who ALWAYS killed a squad of terminators a turn from 1 scatter laser in 2nd edition took on a players space wolves. SW player usually played eldar but he had got the SW together and it was their first game. First turn the terminators go down to the scatter laser and the rest of the army pretty much fall to the guardians shuriken cats (2nd ed for those who arent familiar with it had a 24" range got off between 1 and 3 shots with a chance of a jam on the weapon, wounded marines on a 4+ and reduced their save to 5+). The only response he got from the SW player was "ok I'm selling my space wolves".
Owner of the then local games store banning heavy weapons being deployed on high ground at the beginning of games because twice (he damanded a restart of the game) an IG player blew up his dread. He then proceeded to stick a multimelta in an infiltrators squad on high ground claiming it was ok because they were infiltrators. His next opponent used his own words on him after that when he stuck 3 heavy weapons in a CSM vet squad on high ground and took out his dread with resulting explosion nuking his warboss.
A falcon parking itself in front (1" away maybe) of 2 missile launchers, a heavy bolter and a lascannon I had in squads and not one weapon could touch it! I hung my head in shame that game
Me and the person I asked to be the best man at my wedding played a game where for the first 2 turns, every roll was a 1 or 2 and he was using guard...
Hell of a lot more, mostly from 2nd ed games but they're the ones I can be bothered to type for now

My friend and I engaged in a Dreadnaught duel once. On my right flank I was marching my Dread up, and he placed his identically armed Dread to keep me in check. So for three turns the two shoot each other with Lascannons...and fail to do anything. On turn four I enter charging range and do so, as we joke they'll do nothing. How wrong we were.
Both Dreads hit once. Both penetrate. Both role a six. Both go boom. Because they were pinned we left the legs and close combat weapon there to show what had happened.

ECs always do some badass stuff. Makes me miss using that codex.
But, I just remembered another one. Playing the same Word Bearer's player from the other story, I had just called down some Termies. He charges them with his Cultists/Counts as Summoned Lesser Daemons (If you're thinking this sounds familiar, yes he was linked in Gav Thorpe's blog) hoping to tarpit them fora turn or two. 3 turns and an amazing amount of invulns later, my termy squad lays in ruins and his culitsts run off to find another target.

The best moment I can recall came back in the good ol' days of 3rd edition. One of my friends unloaded several hundred points' worth of space marine goodness into Abaddon trying to pick off his last wound before he charged and started tearing some ass in spectacular fashion. After a moment of despair during which my friend watched the game slip away, he spied a lone scout that had been sitting in cover for the majority of the game after the rest of his unit got massacred. One bolt pistol, one hit, one wound, two failed saves. Gotta love it.

In my last Apoc mega battle game, a stealth suit squad was in close combat with my kroot squad. I worked him down to one suit and with my remaining 13 kroot (10 hounds and 3 carnivores), I made my last attack to eliminate the squad. Well, about 9 hit but an epic fail to wound. He gets his attack back and wounds one. My kroot look in horror at their fallen and break and run to which the suit elimnates them when they failed all rolls after.

Had a great 4 way game tonight. I'm not entirely sure it's 'funny' but I couldn't find a 'moments of sheer awesome' thread within the past few pages.
Basically, we're having a 4 way free for all game, everyone starting on corners, trying to get to the bunker in the middle.
I'm playing my Mordian Iron Guard.
Against
Plague Marines
Noise Marines
and....
Iron Warriors.
- Talk about wandering into the wrong battlefield.
To use some artistic license.
Marbo was flying the Valkyrie Troop Transport, he unloaded upon a Chaos Demon Prince, brutally wounding it. Return fire from a Rhino transport mounted Chaos Marine Squad managed to shoot down the Valkyrie. Marbo ordered everyone to parachute out.
While escaping, with half the squad dying due to falling debris, the remainder, while in mid air, managed to destroy the offending tank using their plasma guns, despite the rest of the Guard army shooting at it. Marbo then crash landed the valkyrie into the Chaos marine squad, wiping them out completely, before jumping clear at the last possible minute then landing on top of the objective.
Seeing the sheer horror that Guardsman Marbo unleashed, the Plague Marine army shambled slowly off the board in terror and the battle was called....
Edit: What actually happened.

Most people just seem to be writing accounts of how they really kicked a lot of ass... to me, not that funny.
So, how about this:
I was using Maugan Ra. He shoots a vendetta and out of 4 hits, he gets three rends! At this point I'm basking in the glory of my incredible luck, so I quickly toss out the dice to roll the 3 damage results:
1
1
2
... instant karma, I guess

Funniest Fantasy Moment: With 2 Orc Shamans, I rolled 2 Gork's Warpath results. Every time I cast, I would get no higher than 3 hits on the target enemy unit, and when I did, I swear I rolled no higher than a 2 (Toughness 5 opponent). I rolled a 1 on the Warpath Chart and Gork's almighty Foot Stomped my 14 Black Orcs and my Warboss unit to about 4 Fleeing Black Orcs and their Warboss... Also, it seems that my friend's Screaming Skull Catapalt WILL roll a misfire on the 2nd or 3rd turn. In fact, even when I play as his Tomb Kings, I've had the catapult misfire and explode on the first turn.

firt moment was at my flgs. There were five of us contemplating what we wanted to play. In the end we decided two of us were going to branch off and have some eldar vs eldar fun, while the other three went at it. (chaos vs. tau and sm).
Well my friend Alex and I (the eldar players) are all set up and the other people are setting up on the table next to us. Well, they start before us and the sm player drops a pod right next to my opponents dark reapers, on our table. we look at him as he pulls out his tac squad form the pod.
Well he goes up front to get a drink and comes back, wondering why his drop pod and tac squad aren't next to the eldar anymore. We had to explain that drop pods can't drop into other peoples games. The look on his face was priceless and we all have a good laugh at it now and then.
The second was at a local tournement. My friend was playing chaos, and i had my eldar. There was a special rule for this mission which was called blood for the blood god. At the beginning of every turn, each sqaud has to roll a die, and if a 6 was rolled they attack each other.
So about turn 3 his squad of obliteraters, which have been harassing me the entire game, roll a 6. he rolls the attacks, and the squad ends up killing itself. As I shout "Blood for the blood god" in joy.

Ah shokk attack guns.
I used to use a shokk attack gun every game, I have no idea why because in the first six games I used him he managed to roll a 5,5 (the teleport one) in every single game, usually as his first ever shot of the game.
Math isn't my strong point but I believe the odds of that happening are something close to 1/216.
The only targets he decided to teleport into were necrons or vehicles so I named him tin-nutta both for his tin head and his habit of nutting tin with it face first through a warp tunnel.
Tin nutta rejoiced in his new name by not teleporting into the enemy for a few games but brought it back with a vengeance in his first ever 5th edition game. He teleported into a vindicator in the first turn.
"Too bad" my opponent says, "AV13, bit of a waste of points"
"ah but in 5th edition cc always targets rear av now"
4 auto hits, 2 penetrating hits and 2 6's later tin nutta is standing alone surrounded by the wreckage of a vindicator and grinning inanely.
Then there was the time that he teleported into a unit of marked slaanesh marines in cover, beat and BROKE them and got to fire the next turn.
Of course there was also the time he teleported himself in front of a carnifex

Crazed Spirit of the Defiler

A couple of good ones...
In the time of Seeding Swarm Nids, a Tau playing friend of mine was getting smashed by deepstriking stealers - who could DS directly into combat, no less.
Anyway, a carnifex with 2 wounds crashes into one of the last units of firewarriors left - about 3 guys. He kills 1. The Tau then proceed to hit, and wound it twice - and the Nid player (HBMC) fails 2 saves. Firewarriors killing a carnifex in CC :p I think this is where HBMC's Tau hatred comes from.
2. 3rd Ed, quarters deployment, a falcon with a full seer squad sets up dead centre of the board, area denial etc for deployment. Nightfight as well, so I couldn't have LOS. I was playing guard, got the first turn. First shot of the game, took a WAG on range with a Basilisk, hit exactly, no scatter at all. Proceeds to Pen, then get a 6 on the chart - entire unit obliterated. 600 points destroyed, game called over for a rematch.

I had a good one a few years back.
A group of us were playing Fantasy, a big 3v3, Good vs Evil game. Anyways, my friend charges a unit of Night Runners into the flank of 6 Silver Helms in the movement phase. Shooting phase rolls around and I decide "Hey, maybe I'll help them out and throw a Goblin into the fray!" I fire my Doom Diver and get a direct hit, wiping out all of the Silver Helms...
We all laughed (well, not the Elf player. ) as we imagined the Skaven charging in, only to hear the scream of a Goblin, and the Elven cavalry in front of them go down like bowling pins.

Between my mate there is a bit of a running joke about my Heamoculi. He can never kill anything with his stinger (for you non DE a weapon that wounds on 2+ always and if you kill the model they explode with a Strength and Ap equal to the target models Toughness and save.)
He hits on 3+ wounds on 2+ and usually I'm fighting guard so only a 5+ save. AND HE NEVER EVER KILLS ANYONE. The anticipation builds, I hit (he rarely misses) and then I roll a one .

In our first APOC game, one of the players was using Celestine the Living Saint and he gave her the only Vortex grenade allowed in the game. (We have always agreed to limited choices and the Vortex is one of them). She moved up the middle of the board and then got really close to a Reaver Titan. Announcing to everyone playing that he was about to throw the grenade at the titan. I was on the opposing side and was worried that our titan was about to eat dust.. He rolled with everyone watching. He missed and it deviated back on to Celestine, Killing her instantly and destroying a part of the terrain she was on.
She came back later in the game with some special rule, but till this day he gets heckled about "throwing like a girl"
Plus everyone is now afraid to take a vortex cause of it.
