It's only illegal if you get caught. Seriously, I knew that. I said it for effect. I do not condone or support anyone who breaks the law willingly.
On a side note, and slightly off topic, are guns completely outlawed in the UK? Or can you get special permits for them?

No - it's actually easier to get a gun license in the UK than it is to get a driving license! The difference is you have to keep your rifle or shotgun in a lock-box at all times, and you can only discharge it in certain areas, IIRC. Quite a few farmers have them, as well as hunters. But handguns? Big no-no. Only Cops and Robbers have them. And not even that many cops have them. I support arming our Police Force, provided they improve their training.
