Has the new Space Wolf codex inspired you to start Space Wolves?
I've been playing Space Wolves the whole time, the new codex makes no difference..
I have an old Space Wolf army and the new codex makes me want to use them again.
Yes, I'm starting a brand new Space Wolves army.
I would start a Space Wolves army but I don't want to jump on the bandwagon.
No, the codex doesn't make me want to start a Space Wolves army at all.
I had a Space Wolves army already but the codex makes me want to stop playing them.
I don't play 40K or have no opinion.

While it hasn't inspired me to start 'Space Wolves.' Seeing all these drop pod armies has made me want to start pod marines (I mean vanilla pod marines.)

I'm making an alternate "Chaos Wolves" list for my army to play with. That should be an option.

IMO the new wolves arent that different from the old wolves. Barring new characters and streamlining the rules for 5th edition, they are pretty much the same as they were before (IMO, i have no desire to discuss why they are not). So I will just wait around until Black Templars get some new codex love.

I chose the second one, but the real reason is that I don't have enough cash, or time to start a second marine army.

40k itself is a bandwagon. I'm not sure why getting on the subset bandwagon would make anyone hesitate. Now, not wanting to start an army you aren't committed to just because it's new and, as an old timer, knowing that it won't actually go anywhere . . . that's another matter.

Well, not "Space Wolves" but a Word Bearers: Sicarus Expeditionary Force.
The force can be lead by a Dark Apostle.
Terminators can lead the standard troops (like in 2nd edition)
The contained in the basic squad is the opportunity to have 6 uniquely armed models, which includes both a demagogue/icon bearer and a mutant/possessed.
I can use dreadclaws (drop pods).
My characters can have personal litanies (sagas) and can be designed in a way to represent a veteran of 10,000 years.
Oh, and demonic & mutant mounts.

The only cons are no demons (which the current codex took care of),
no demon princes (can't use the marked ones anyway, Word Bearers),
no demon engines (there is only one in non-apocalypse anyway),
and no autocannons.

The new Chaos Undivided (Space Wolves) codex looks great!

Heh, nice.

I've been a wolf player since 2nd ed (they are what got me started in 40k), and I have been using the mini dex since 2000, so I wasn't too worried about the new book, in fact I quite like it. Loads of options and I can fit a few more grey hunters in now too.

So you're not using Codex: Daddy Doesn't Love Me Enough So I'm Going to Start a Chapter Called "The Darkkillers" with Two Daemon Princes of Slaanesh, Nine Obliterators, and Four Squads of Plague Marines in Rhinos?

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

I jumped on the bandwagon. I'm a bad, bad person.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I've wanted to play the Sons of Russ since I started the hobby, something about them just appealed to me. But I was never able to get my hands on anything other than the rules for the 13th Company, and the models. Now they have a new dex and Im pumped. Too bad I told myself no Wolves til I finish the Night Lords.

I didn't see an option for "It makes me want to use my chaos army as counts-as space wolves, because it gave nearly every cool upgrade/option I used to have, but had taken away because it was too powerful, to this army instead".

So I went with "start a new one". Close enough.

Short and sweet. Me and bro played games agianst each other with the 3rd edition codex, he always pretty much nailed my force commander and my 100 marines to his dreadnought and rape my eldar. But the Space wolves are a cool chapter. But the only problem is there is no leman russ or 13th company in there which pissed me off. After looking through my giantic army list i saw many problems with my list so i'm going to buy a space wolf battle force for the drop pod and for the awesome bits : D.

I owned them years ago and then again more reccently in 2005, both times I let them go when something else caught my eye and I needed funds.

The new rules sound interesting, but I'm more likely to grab some of the new figs and convert them into members of my Chaos Marines allied force the 'Black Howl of Fenris' then use the codex.

I jumped....back on i guess. I started a SW army a few years back, but was un-impressed with the models, and over all structure. To me there wasnt enough deail in the history, or army choices.

Now though, all that has changed, and im very happy with the 3000pt army ive put together since thier release.

Ive always had a liking for marines, but never went there because everyone had a marine army. I believe that the SW army is different enough to justify me not being a hypocrite.

Im following Harald Deathwolf, so the majority of my army will be wolf based rather than marine based ( at the moment thats not the case as i cant get hold of wolf miniatures, and apparently theres no plans for thunderwolf riders ).

I'll try and get some pictures up tomorrow.

In all honesty, parts of the codex made me want to soak it in nitroglycerin and shove it into the eye socket of the idiot who wrote it.

A spell that inta-kills ANYTHING on a failed initiative test?! What in god's name are you idiots thinking?

Seriously, if GW continues this splurge of "Let's make everything awesome by making it cheese!", I'm really considering just launching an exterminatus missile right into the GW corporate building's President's office.

If anything, I'm not only refusing to play them, but even acknowledge their validity as an army.

That's just my opinion on the matter, lol.

Some people would rather wine than actually try and think of a counter.

As far as the new dex goes i think SW are cool but that's about as far as its ever gonna get with me having 4 armies and all, plus i like coming up with my own fluff.

codex hasn't affected my choice. I haven't actualy looked at the dex yet the deciding factor is the models that make me want to start spacewolves, even though i normaly dislike spacemarines.
