The only problem with stealth suits is, they are overcosted. The stealth field helps, but if you are in their 18" weapon range, especially when deepstriking them, those don't do much good. They are also not as versatile as crisis suits because they only have the burst cannons with a possible fusion blaster that is fitted for a completely different role than the burst cannons that you payed 60 points for. Overall, they are just overcosted, and not very survivable, especially for the extra points. Crisis suits are usually a better option for just about anything. I have to say, I find stealth suits very cool and fluffy, but either the stealth field needs to be a little more stealthy or they have to cost less before they will be viable units.

@Kroot Loops: Your Pathfinders don't have to markerlight on turn one. They have pulse carbines as well so even if you have to move them in turn one, they can still use their S5 pinning guns.
Like carbine Fire Warriors, except they get a Markerlight for only 2 pts per model
As for Sky Rays, I find them very very useful, especially with SMS and a multi-tracker. Move 12" every turn, shoot everything at different targets and tank shock or ram on top of it all

Kroot Loops wrote:People use stealth suits for a dedicated marker light platform for two reasons:
1. Stealth Field: When staying at 36+" away, they are (almost) immune to return fire. This helps keep your marker lights alive for the length of the game
2. Weapons: The burst cannon is str 5 AP 5, of which the Tau army is drowning in already, so you don't lose as much keeping them out of range.
While a team of Deathrain suit could use the marker lights and still fire their weapons for effects, they are also more expensive and lose the protection from ranged retaliation.
This is of course assuming you're going to bring enough marker lights to make a real impact on the battlefield (at least six)
I second this as drone controller on HQ NEEDS to be shield drones. Saves points with you put them with another squad.
