Been trying to get a good snow effect all weekend and week, but nothing looks good. I've tried baking soda and potato flour, nothing works. I guess I'll have to get the GW or any other snow flock. Unless someone else has got a better idea.

Also been working on the Autocannon teams. I'll post pictures in about an hour, after I've gotten my hair cut.
The teams are going to be heavily converted, as well as the bases!

So here you go! Photos of two of the four Heavy Weapon teams, as promised!
I'm still working on the details on both bases, but this is just to give you an idea of what they will look like.

Heavy Weapon team #1. There is going to be a Guardsman manning the Autocannon, and a Guardsman taking shelter behind the ruins, directing the gunner.







Heavy Weapon team #2. This one is supposed to look like the Guardsmen are deploying the Autocannon. Both Guardsmen are carrying the AC, I'm still working on their poses.

So I still haven't found a way to do snow. But at least I now know how to make a good-looking ice effect.
All ingredients used are:
White PVA glue
Potato flour
Water
Sand (if you do not want it to look like plain ice, or if the base is not full with ice)
Any white paint (I used Skull White)
Gloss Varnish

Bare in mind that this still WIP and is supposed to look like if there has been a layer of ice, and then the snow on top of the ice has frozen.

Nice basework on the first two.
The snow looks a little strange though, more like cake icing, keep trying!
You need something matte, dusty almost, on the top. Maybe add something that sparkles a little.

This base was just a prototype and a test piece. The sand still needs painting (as you clearly can see), and I think with some snow on the ice it will look more realistic.

Sorry guys, but there will be no update this week, as I have 2 major assignments to leave in, 2 major tests and some minor assignments to do at school. There might be an update this weekend, though.

Finally this week is over! I think the history test today went well, and I've left in one of the assignments.
The other assignment was moved to next wednesday, so I've got time to do some updates!

Please, help me develop a nice snow effect. Try different methods with ingredients that you usually have at home. I'm sick of it, and I'm about to give up...

I will most likely update tomorrow! I can't today, as I have my usual training at 20- 22:00. Really bad time, I know.

For you non-Swedish speaking people: He liked my guardsmen, but he didn't have any tips for making snow effects. He also wanted to challenge me in a game in his home town.

YEEES! FINALLY!
Good news! My dad just got home with...
some scenic snow from woodland scenics!
He went to the railway model and model store in town, and they had just what I wanted and needed! Finally I can get to weather the chimera properly. AFTER I've come up with YET ANOTHER paint scheme for the Guards...

Yes, I AM serious! I'm still not happy with the look of the armour and clothes. I'm going with a scheme now that just screams out a lot more 'snow' and 'winter'. White clothes and light or dark grey or maybe some kind of brown.

Please be patient! Still got a lot to do at school, and as usual my trainings take up some time. Thanks!
