I actually did use a P3 wet pallet for a while.
Anyway, I picked up a bottle of Vallejo thinner today. I found out last night that it has both flow enhancer and an equivalent of "slow-dri".

I don't worry about paint dry on the palette. I use a painting well so normally the paint is still wet when I need to refill the well.

It's just an added bonus that my paints in the well stay open for around 30 minutes before "skinning".

I just like the slo-dri fro wet blending.

Ok so.. I haven't painted anything in a decade. And when I did it was never very good. What does the 10:1 ratio mean, how would I measure that?

10 drops of water per 1 drop of flo aid.

What I do is make an 8oz. batch and then measure out the flo aid with a syringe. I then use that 8oz bottle to fill a 15cc dropper bottle that is the same size as reaper/vallejo bottles.

For my GW pots i use Pledge Future Shine ( http://www.floorcareproducts.com/floor-finish/index.asp ) rather than water to thin them down. It works especially well. Water will eventually separate (especially with the low pigment content of homemade washes and such), but Future Shine is liquid acrylic for clear coating floors. I reccomend it to all the guys at my FLGS and to dakka if you are looking for a good alternative to water for making washes/thinning your paints. It leaves a gloss finish when you use it in a wash (there is more pledge than paint), but i flat varnish my models anyway. It also doesnt have the surface tension problem that water has, so no need for dish detergent.

I have used it in my airbrush, but it increases the already prominent tip dry of acrylic paints. In this case i prefer to use water.

I use 1:1 Future (9 parts future/1 part water) to paint. Works amazingly well. I would recommend it to anyone.

With vallejo in dropper bottles and and my future mix in an old eye drops bottle is super convenient.

If you want things to stay wet, have you tried a wet palette? Wet paper towel in a shallow dish
with water, parchment paper on top. Paint goes on the parchment paper. Water seeps
upward into the parchment paper. Paint stays wet.

I do this and I am able to leave paint in it overnight ad a few drops of water and continue working

Great tutorial/tips, thanks!

Has anyone here ever tried the Vallejo Matt/Matte Medium (even Vallejo spells it both ways on their own website lol http://www.acrylicosvallejo.com/en_US/model-paints/auxiliary-products/3)?

I found it when I was looking up the Vallejo Thinner that Thorgut recommended and that seems like it might help me a lot since I use GW paints which are a bit more Satin, but I don't really want to delay the drying time like the Vallejo Thinner would. Can anyone vouch for the Vallejo Matt Medium?

Edit: Just realized Vallejo in fact spell it three different ways on that page, "Matt" "Matte" and "Mat" (likely a typo)... Just thought that was kind of funny.
