Just saw this thread, and wanted to throw in my input. I also was "duped" by deathscyth.

hello all i am zer0 and i am a persinal friend of deayscyth. an i very sorry we had to meet under this conditions. first and for most i would like to let you all know i just put two and two together and found out he had ben dooing this on dakka and i am sorry. secandly he used my know for the pakages i am James Lucia and i do not live at the address he gave. i would like if every one would calm down and give me a day or two to talk with and and see what stuff i can get him to shipp out to the rightfull owners. i am so sorry he did all of this. iif any one has any questions you can reach me at

when i confruntied him about this event at school today he told me he had be using my name to resive the packages and i told him i will not stand for this and demanded he send back everything he resived from this site

a text message or phone call will be most effective but a pm will work fine i check daka every day and will be on again tonight

Zer0 thank you very much for being honest and stepping forward on this. Its a very nice thing for you to do. To all that has been affected. Please be nice when working with Zer0 since he is going to help us out and Zer0 sounds like a lot of us have been duped by this person so I am willing to give you some time to work with him and get the stuff back as I am sure everyone else will

Oblits 3 Complete **conferming they are there and in fine condition

1 fully painted Rhino w twin linked bolter * i have seen a nergale one if that is yours let me know
7 fully painted metal PMs *have not seen
8 unprimed PMs 1 with magnates *have not seen
1 Vindactor NOS *poorly put togeter

zer0 any idea on a time frame yet? Also has everyone contacted you?

i am not sure if everyone contained me many people have and i do have some models in my position like frosty hardtops stuff is on my counter now as is medd's stuff your stuff te3blor might take a little longer foe he has lots of choas and i need to weed out what is his. if you have pictures that would be a great help.
as for frostys and medds i will have their stuff out once they approve of the shipping method i pmed them as for your stuff depending if i get pics will be out at the latest 2 weeks guaranteed

That's great that you're doing this! I would recommend getting delivery confirmation (only $0.65 extra) if you're using the postal service. That way you can PM them the number to show that the packages have shipped.

If you use UPS or FedEx, I believe it will be tracked automatically.

Try to get them out on Monday if you have them already! That way people will know it's getting resolved, and will tend to be more patient and understanding

Again, thanks for stepping in to fill the gap here! You're doing your friend a favor, too, to keep him from getting in quite a bit of trouble... a call to his parents might be trouble enough, but getting the police involved would be a whole different matter!

yeah he can be a knuckle head some times and i will have confermation codes on monday that might be valid tuseday* i herd some times they dont activate them imidiantly* i wil will be giving out at least 2 confirmation codes monday

so i am wondering with this whole ordeal would it be out of quwstion for me to start a trade thread. i am in need of some modles but dont want to go throught the trouble if people think i am dishounest for knowing this person so can i please have an opinion if poeple would want to trade with me

I think as soon as the people you've shipped out to on Monday can confirm they have received the items (so at the latest by Friday), then you will be able to pursue trades without a problem. It might be wisest to wait until that's happened so that people can be sure

As I RiTides said, wait until Frosty and the rest confirm that they have recieved back their goods. Then I'm sure they'll recommend you in the highest terms.

He sent a PM confirming shipment, but the confirmation number doesn't seem to be working through the USPS website. I will naturally let everyone know if/when everything arrives.

I had been contemplating doing some of the swap thing with people here, but following this thread has made me very cautious.

I don't anticipate getting my shipping costs back, but I also can't do anything for lost time, or for the lost opportunities I might have taken advantage of had I not been lied to.

If you're going to trade, you can protect yourself. Make the thread yourself, request that people be willing to send their items first. Additionally, prefer to deal only with traders on the "reputable traders" list. Alternatively, you might look into a trading site with more clearly defined trading rules and agreements that can be more strongly enforced. Most importantly, if it seems too good to be true, assume that it probably is.

My roommate's been discouraged from trading here too. I'm not. I figure for every bad guy, there's 100 good guys, although I will say that the number of transaction reports is alarming.

Yes and to further what Frosty is saying I would get all the info you can from a person you are going to trade with including phone number and call and talk to them before you trade with them to make sure its a real number. I learned lots of lessons from this trade gone bad but I will say I am still going to trade on here because this was my first bad one and at least its getting better!

Frosty it sometimes takes a day before the tracking number works; I believe on the USPS website it says to check back in the evening. If so, it might be working by now.

According to this, you sent it Certified Mail? That might be a problem. I'm not going to be home all weekend, and also I live in a basement and tend to sleep later than the mail delivery/aren't home when it comes.

Certified Mail is when they won't deliver the package without a signature. I won't be there or aware of the delivery to provide a signature, so receiving the package might prove difficult.

cant you go to the post office if you dont get it at your house that way you go there sign and then BAM problem salved or dose this not work
