I love how the picture of Ibrahim they posted depicts him in the most evil way possible, head low with a cigarette in his mouth, and the picture of Amy next to him has her dressed up as an angel with her hands clasped in prayer.

Subtle.

All news agencies, either TV, paper, internet... all of them are around for one thing and one thing only. to sell themselves. free press, un-bias news, real stories, are just fiction. bottom line, contraversy sells, and the more sensational and twisted a paper can make a story the more money they make. so yes. news agensies are so twisted they make a cork screw seem strait.

Which is endlessly frustrating and sad. You can't trust anyone or anything anymore, everything you hear on TV or read in a newspaper could be complete and utter bs made to make you react just how someone with more money than you wants you to.

Fortunately, a knowledge of science, maths and statistics offer us tools with which we can evaluate the quality of stuff we get told by the media.

Actually a bit of common sense can help a lot. For example, three points for evaluating IT proposals:

1. What problem is this supposed to solve? (Is there a real problem at all...)
2. Who benefits from the implementation? (The end user, the supplier, the IT department...)
3. What will it cost?

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
