Granted people are imperfect,but one should expect a certian degree of professionalism concerning the staff at any resturant,even one as crummy as Applebees,forgeting your customers to go chit chat with your boyfriend is ,IMO, not understandable and yes I do expect waitresses/waiters to be polite and be there when needed,as that is part of the job they are hired to do.
It seriously grieves me that for some reason more and more people in food service belive that "showing up" is all that's required of them to earn their check,yes it's a crap job in most cases,but FFS if it's your job..do it,if a person hates working food service so much..find another line of work.

Always remember that your waiter probably hates you. Operating in that mode will go a long way to ensuring that any issues are minimal.

Amen to that. The only places I eat at, outside of my home, are where I can see the food being prepared. Char-Grill's a big one, but otherwise...I eat at home most of the time

True,I've become a big fan of Moes' becuase they prepare your food right in front of you,plus the Homewrecker is pretty damn good.

1: the food. Can it get more bland and mediocre
2: the price. Not priced like they're mediocre.
3: per above, the service.

I'm Canadian so I don't know what Applebees is.

BUT! I have had a similar exprenece theres a "fancy" resteraunt my mom and gma insist on going too every chance they get. The food's meh, but the waitresses have to be some of the biggest 's I've seen they even once wrote down a bunch of things I didn't order and gave them down to me.


Boy did she get in trouble, I think she got fired.

Many, many moons ago, I was on a college newspaper. Someone wanted to write an article about how bland the restaurant she went to the night before was. She basically said the food was just "ok", somewhat over priced and only worth going to there if you like their style of decorations. She did not want to use her name on it. I read the critique, realized I felt the same way about the place, slapped my name on it. No Applebees I have ever been into since has ever made me regret putting my name to her comments.

I'm going to answer this because while I know you aren't serious, a lot of people don't know where the name comes from. It comes from Buffalo, the city in NY, not buffalo, the animal.

The only thing worth eating at Applebees are the appetizers, and even then there are restaurants with better for cheaper. I'm fortunate that here in wine country we have very few chain restaurants and some really good small chains or local places.

Just for future reference (and from past experience in the food service industry), most chain restaurants won't just give the mil discount for uniform. You need to have the mil ID with the check to get it.

Its not a respect thing, its about the fact that a bunch of yahoos have worn fatigues to restaurants and get comped/disc'ed meals etc etc.

Other than that, thats some sucky service.

Last night I had:

Amuse bouche
Caesar salad
Onion gratin soup
Rolls
Hamburg steak with fries and veggies
Three desserts (mini portions)
Coffee

Total cost was £16.79p

It wasn't at Applebee's.

Now?
