Now you need to cut him in half. A full bisection right down the whole length of the Head and Thorax (abdomen's optional). Head's easiest since it comes in two halves. Then stick 4mm of plasticard between the two halves and glue em back together.

I've been painting a bit today. I just have the body plates on my 3 Warriors and they are finished (I've done all the other blades and plates ).

I confess that apart from gluing on the scythe tail bit, the Carnifex hasn't been touched :(...but I am on a bit of a 'nid rush at the moment so it won't stay still for long .

I'm not planning on adding any other types of leader beast...possibly a bloated, egg-laying Carnifex based queen...(more of a terrain piece than a useable model).

The main miniatures will be Gaunts, Rippers and Warriors with Carnifex' as a 'leader' caste.

I quite like the new Raveners but they just don't fit in with my army theme...the same with most of the new beasties.

I am planning to get some of the Gargoyles at some point though.

Well you can make anything fit into your own fluff. it might take a while though..

You should make some Raveners, they would fit in perfectly with an army in the sand. Also, read the book Desert Raiders, it is about an IG company that is fighting tyranids in the desert, along with warrior brood, which has a deathwatch kill-team killing tyranids in a desert, and in Warrior brood, it talks about Raveners killing a space marine like in JAWS.

Really nice 'Nids I've always been partial to real bugs or dinosaur 'Nid schemes camo and realism always looks great for them.

I've actually managed to grit my teeth and put some more paint on the 'fex. I have started the next layer (Bubonic Brown) but I reckon it will have to be little and often because I have painted a bit too much Tyranid goodness lately and the novelty has really worn off...

...but I haven't given up...not yet, anyway .

Don't worry! We'll keep ya motivated. Now get off and start painting!
