You could try white spirit, the decorators best friend. should work on masking tape adhesives.

Right sorry about the lack of updates but 1 short visit to the dentist and 7 teeth out later I've not been feeling up to painting.
However I managed to remove the masking tape gunk, unfortunately the white spirit took the paint with it (despite being acrylic) but on the plus side it was only an undercoat so I was able to touch that up reasonably well.
I was concerned about knackering the finished paint surface on the engines which also received a hefty amount of tape so I popped out today and grabbed some label remover spray as I've heard this is a bit more friendly on painted surfaces.

Also in the meantime I've put down the first layers of the camo scheme (codex grey on top of space wolves grey) and while they needed a small tidy up to remove some of the leakage they've come out really well. Only slight issue I'm having at the moment is that the Space Wolves Grey is a bit bright. Admittedly this is all pre-weathering, but I'm considering giving it a black wash to tone it down a bit.

I'll post some pics once the 3rd layer of camo spray is done and then begin the weathering stages after that.

OK as promised here are a few pics of the current status.

I still need to remove some of the masking tape gunk from the under side which is irritating. However I'm quite pleased with the definition on the camo pattern. It still needs weathering, and I'm seriously considering a black wash over the Space Wolves Grey to tone it down a little. C&C welcome.

Wow, that is sweet! Once you get the weathering and damage on it'll look a lot better. You gotta dirty it up a bit. Did you see what Gundam Mecha did to his Thunderbolt? Check out his skills at http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/228741.page#541332

Keep it up, thanks for the photos!

Ok, she's done. It's been a really interesting build and it's taught me a lot. This was my first time using an airbrush, first time using templates, first time working in resin, first time having to pin models or patch with milliput. It's also the first time I've had a go with using inks properly (the brown ink makes a great oil effect and my purples made for some nice heat bluing for the guns and engines).

There are however some areas which I'm less pleased with. The masking tape has left a nasty semi-gummy seam around some areas which just would not come off (never using decorators tape again... I think I'll pay the extra on the Maurader and get some proper Tamiya stuff). Also I over sanded the cockpit which has left a visable gap at the front. Finally the black wash I used to weather the outside just doesn't work for me, some areas show brush strokes and on the whole I feel it could look a lot more polished.

I've still to make the base and stand (and I'll update with these just as soon as I've figured out how I'm going to do them.)...

But without further ado, I'd like to present the finished (for now) Imperial Lightning Attack Fighter - Lamda 2 (I deliberately chose number 2 so that it would force me to do at least 1 more

C&C welcome as always
