That being said, Soulstorm wasn't worth it. Dark Crusade was pretty awesome because it added a lot to the game. Firestorm over Kronus sounds really cool but I haven't gotten it yet.

Personaly it was the more tactical feel of DoW2 I enjoyed more, but from the orginal lot probably the DC campaign, just play soulstorms more as it has more maps and you have to nuke an enemy out the game to get the bonuses.

Basically: shortened type of DoW2 campaign system + FoC = best 40k game that has ever (and may ever!) exist.

I like Dark Crusade as it has the best mods (until they finish Soul Storms or Dawn of War 2)

Dark Crusade was the best in my opinion, and the one which I played the most of. For Dawn of War 2, I played through the campaign once then was rather bored with it.

DOWII. Last Stand. 'Nuff said.

Dark Crusade for me. One of my favourite games ever. I never got Soul Storm as the flying unit concept is horribly done and it adds two races that look ugly as hell. And Dawn of War II only just works on my computer, so without being able to play anything but the campaign I cannot really fully appreciate it.

I always play as Space Marines on Dark Crusade, for one reason alone. My chapter; The Desu Brigade.

The voice acting is terrible in all of the original DoW games. I don't see how Soulstorm was a step down.

I prefer Soulstorm because I like the playstyle of the Dark Eldar, and I only really play it as a lanbash now. I'm afraid to launch DoW2 because it'll probably try to update Windows Live for the hundredth time this year. Not even Steam is that bad. It literally has me living in fear.

Yeah, I prefer steam a billion times over to Windows Live. I can't even figure out how to play multiplayer on either of the DoW: 2 games (someone help me?) because of Windows Live. Whenever I try to make a windows live account, as it tells me too, it sends me to the XBOX website to make an XBOX LIVE account.. useless windows live..

Ya, xbox live and windows live are the same thing. Windows live was incorporated after the fact and they just built the two systems over the same architecture. This also makes it so that if you have an xbox (360) you can link your windows live and xbox live accounts and share achievements and friends lists across the two, as well as not having to have two separate accounts to add funds to if you want to get expansions through the live marketplace.

Just too much to ask wasn't it? Just too much to ask a multi-million pound (or more?!) company to put up a little sign saying "they're the same thing" or to just make a sub-site for windows live.


So I just make another account on Xbox live website then sign in with it in-game?

Well, I've been messing with this fething windows live for hours now, and it STILL DOESN'T WORK. I've installed everything, got live and all. But it tells me I have 0 profiles and when I log in to my "supposed" profile, it just says that I either have no connection or the windows live ID service is not available, meaning my DoW 2 and DoW 2: CR games are absolutely useless to me at the minute.

Any suggestions? Cause I'm really hating Windows Live at the minute.

Uh, no unfortunately I don't have any more suggestions. I setup my "live" ID on my xbox 360 and not the website so I don't know the full process. Sorry you're having such hassles though.

Thanks . I think it's because it downloads every single update I've not got one at a time, and that is stopping me from using it.

Changed my mind - I've fallen in love with DoW: 2 multiplayer. Much better than FoK IMO.. well, they're different games. But I have more fun with DoW.

I've only finished the campaign for the original. I'm midway through Winter Assault right now. ...thats considering the single-player... as for multiplayer I mostly play Dark Crusade.

DoW2 is the superior game. The production value is really off the charts for a strategy game (Yes yes, go ahead and say it's RTT), the combat feels very tight and rewarding once you start pushing, and Last Stand. Last Stand alone makes DoW2 far better.
