The Bunkerbreaker figs from EM4 have a lot of detailing that could be inspiration for steampunk marines.

Alright, I went into the city the other day and visited a hobby store to get some ideas. There I came across some miniature buckets that were meant to go on a model ship, and I thought they would work great as a boiler/backpack for my steampunk marines! So I bought a pack, came home and got to work. The bucket itself was just a bit too big, so I chopped it in half and stack it on that way. Then I modelled some wires out of green stuff, stuck a bit of cotton wool on it and well, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. By the way, this is, again, a trial run, so any criticisms you have, feel free to fill me in so I can improve.

Very nice backpacks there. I think that will work excellently.
And I did find the bases I blubbered about above. These are imho awesome!

@OP: AWESOME!!! That is looking very sick. Very sick, indeed...
I am going to be paying close attention to this thread. I am making a mixture of steampunk/cyber punk orks right now.
Arc reactors and boilers, that type of thing. Same color scheme as yours, but more orky. Think Goff color scheme, with dark red and brushed brass. WAAAGH!!!
Keep on rockin'!

Alright, sorry to resurrect this thread, but I have updates! I haven't forgotten about this, nor have I forsaken my steampunk marines. On the contrary, I am now modifying my terminators, and trying to come up with a suitable colour scheme. I've ordered the steam knight heads from Maxmini.eu, and will be using them on my termies. I think I've found a good colour scheme, but what's your opinion? Also, my lovely girlfriend contributed to my worthy cause; she provided me with a bag o' (clockwork) bits she ordered from the net. Lovely surprise, to see all those tiny cogs and gears and screws ready to be glued onto my miniatures. I haven't used any yet, apart from some little screws to go on the end of the greenstuff wire, but below is a picture of the potential steampunk goodness!

When you call an intimate moment with your partner "the Assault Phase"
Is that followed by a pile-in move?
That brings a whole new meaning to the term "Hit and Run"
Can that be following a deep strike, or do you have to wait until the next round? |
