I only go into GW to buy stuff, so the staff must think I'm great.

On the other hand, I only go in for specific items and always resist the "Do you want some new models to go with that new Codex" push, so maybe I'm not so great...

Im just back from stocking up on all the kit ill need to get me going. I made sure I went to another model store for brushes, glue, knife etc, and only headed to GW for paints/miniatures. The guy was friendly enough, and didnt really push me on much except a couple of brushes which i politely declined. But I guess any retail place is the same, they have to try and upsell.
So now my wallet is a few pounds lighter,and I also made sure to get the missus something so I dont look so bad for spending so much on what she essentially sees as toy soldiers lol!

Yeah, there are usually cupboards on the shop floor with stock in, and then stuff upstairs or out back. But in a lot of cases there is only what is on the shelf, models rarely bought, blisters etc. =/

My local Games Workshop doesn't try to sell you the new stuff and we even talk about alternatives to Games Workshop hobby supply because it's so damn overpriced, I've never felt like I was being pushed to buy their stuff.
