CORRECT as usual. And that's a very helpful real life example, too, G-trolle. Just add psychic communication.

I second that. Here's just one bit of "official" evidence from the Advanced Space Crusade rulebook:
Advanced Space Crusade wrote:
page 3: "...the void is not empty. Through it moves an intelligence, a great creature that is formed from countless billions of creatures, a mind that is many inter-linked minds. This entity, this race, is the Tyranid hive mind..."

page 4: "The Tyranid hive mind is a single co-ordinating will that directs the entire hive fleet. The hive mind is formed from untold billions of individual consciousnesses, each of which is a Tyranid or some other living creature in the hive fleet."

There you have it.

Up in your base, killin' all your doods.

The Tyranids are a super-organism. They share a conciousness. They are each like a cell in the body of the Hive Mind.

Also the Old Ones have created new races before they died out, and the Tyranids could have been their last scornful "feth You" to the Star Gods and created this Uber powerful race that has an unimaginable hunger.

Thats the best think ive ever read That would sure show those stupid C'tan! and it actually makes sense

Welcome to the Daemonhunters, the ranks of the exalted Ordo Malleus and their cannon fod....er, I mean, loyal allies. Remember...the only ones who need fear the righteous might of the Ordo Malleus are the Daemonic.

Except it's not true, because:
A) Tyranids come from ANOTHER GALAXY
B) If the Old Ones did make them, why have they only suddenly arrived en masse (I say En Masse because there is evidence that Genestealers have been advance scouts for a while) bajillions of years after the Old Ones made Humans/Orks/Elfdar?

All my life, I've thought of the hive mind as some big, huge Queen bug that lives on a big bug planet, but as I've read this thread, it seems more and more like the Hive mind is a synecdoche for the fleet. Sure, there are queens and their are big bugs that exist as a large part of the hive mind, but the thought of it being a gestalt will rather than a being that moves around the fleets like chess pieces is making more sense now that I consider it.

Interesting.
