Forge World's already going to lose sales, given that it's Forge World.
They're not in it to make mainstream things that every Johnny and his brother will want. They make things for their scenarios or things that can double as cool scenery/objective pieces.
And by the by--a 'mobile command center' would just be a box that would be underslung and hotdropped into the field

Why must every FW discussion that doesnt favor FW , always result in the typical response of "dont like it , dont buy it"
surely we are allowed to voice our opinions even if its not a praise? From a company's perspective every opinion counts , because from opinions leads to improvements in the future.

The Heavy Lifter Valkyrie isn't *required* to field the Venator. It's an upgrade option.
Just like the Thunderhawk Transporter isn't *required* to field Rhinos or Land Raiders, or Valkyries aren't *required* to field Tarantula Sentry Guns. It's an upgrade option that's intended for the "Oh man this would look cool" crowd, or for objectives and dioramas.
And the response of "Don't like it, don't buy it" is because we're not Forge World. We don't want to read that you don't like it or you won't buy it. We're trying to discuss the models, not what YOU, as a Forge World detractor, feel the model should be ruleswise/pricewise/modelwise. You can have your opinions, but stick to the actual model. Not that you feel "letdown that the model can't carry Chimeras or Hellhounds".
Forge World isn't making things for competitive play. They're making things for Apocalypse gamers, for people who run narrative campaigns, and people who prefer to have something awesome as a centerpiece rather than powergaming munchkins.

Yes , and we ARE trying to discuss the model . For example we say " wow , if only this variant can lift more variety of vehicles FOR SURE I WANT ONE OR A FEW!! "
Then , if enough of the opinion is voice or heard , maybe that will give FW the idea of saying "you know what , they are right. We KNOW this transport was originally intended for the Venator ,
but you know what , it loses alot of its potential. Lets either plan a new kit in the future for chimera chasis , or put a modeling article for easy ways to convert the
lifters to be able to hold chimera chasis vehicles"
You are the one that told me , many times , that this is a forum. The discussion will always go both ways ,
there is no such things as discussing things that only you like and leaving the rest out. And yes , i agree with you.
Thus long story short , there are 2 ideas we have tried to express in this thread.
1) Suggestion what variety might sell well ultimately benefits FW.
2) Bringing up ideas for conversions to lift Chimera chasis will encourage the experienced modelers to pave way to make an idea into reality.
Thus benefiting FW again. Why? because now people that originally dont care for the venator ( thus wouldnt buy one ) could very well now buy the Lifter and convert if it works for their chimeras.
Its easy to say that a post is just a complaint , but is it really?

I'd love to see something like that. I actually put up in the "what would you like to see next" bit the request for different Valkyrie interiors, such as a medivac or command interior.
Somehow I doubt I'll be using the Sky Talon much ingame, it just hits it big with the rule of cool for me, maybe as an objective or for a special scenario.

This is what i do if i could have the Sky Talon. 1. Heavy gunship two punisher cannon, and two other weapons under the wings. 2. light bomber loadup the wings with what you want then two bombs or one big one under the belly. 3. heavy Vendetta lose the heavy bolter put a twinlink lascannon there then put two under each wing so five twinlink lascannon on it.

If nothing else, holding a 'wrecked' Tauros loaded with valuable recon data that can't be extracted conventionally until a Sky Talon arrives to pick it up would make for an awesome mission.
I will be super disappointed if it's not in the IA books.

And I'm far more interested in reading people's reactions to new models than in watching two posters stretch out a thread by bickering over what sort of reaction is appropriate posting material.

Well, knowing FW they will work their new toys into a mission or two, just because they can.
Here's hoping that I'll be left with plenty of Valkyrie parts from it as with the Vulture kit, so I can work on that Valkyrie gunship.

$20 says we'll have a mission that will be something like four squadrons worth of Tauros Venators attacking an Ork Gargant, ala Shermans taking on a King Tiger.
And it will be *glorious*.
As an aside, I've also found a pretty interesting stand-in for a Venator.
It's called a "Guardian Armored Combat Vehicle". You can get them in 1/35th scale from Trumpeter Models, and they're maybe $15 or so cheaper than a Venator.

Segsah new ork tanks are segsah.
I have to say I'd like more variety between them though, the alternative gun choice alone isn't quite enough. I greatly prefer the big gun one over the lots of shootas one.
The easy answer here is to personalise and change the model. That's certainly how I'm planning on personalising my battlewagons, but when it comes to forgeworld, I would personally get squeamish about hacksawing up models of that price (and why I bow to jamsessionein for his hacksawed and musically upgraded squiggoth!), I guess I'm just saying for models that pricey, a certain amount of personalisation add-ons should come as standard and I hope they do. Ork stuff should look individual.
Still, all the new ork stuff from forgeworld has been really good.

I've ordered mine just now, I just how that when I stick a Venator under it that the model will remain in balance.
Also, it would appear that you cannot mount the Sky Talon on the flying stand when it holds a Venator
BrookM ;From what i saw on the Pic page, you Can mount it on the flying base with the Venator in tow, but I'd bet my painting hand there are wirght and balancing issues there.
Too bad, I always get psyced up for new IG FW stuff and every now and then there is disappointment like in this case.
Oh Well. Guess I just won't take out that second morgage to get one.

Instead of making sweeping statements about someone (me) you could always actually research what models I own and maybe even look at my SIGNATURE or gallery.. I only do narrative apoc campaigns and I own almost every Eldar FW kit and a lot of SM stuff. So I think Im allowed to have my own opinions since I do everything you just mentioned
Yes youre correct its not required to field land raiders or rhinos in a thunderhawk transporter.. but WHY would you take a transporter if you werent going to do that? Take a thunderhawk instead.. Everyone can buy what they want, I just feel that that the sky talons only purpose is to fuel sales of the venerator which probably wouldnt generate many sales on its own..
Anyway, spend whatever money you want.. I think its absurd FW threads are apparently only allowed to have 100% praising posts.. Just because they make premium models does not mean theyre immune to criticism and imo this model is 100% advertisement for the venerator
