I'm sorry, I don't understand the point you are trying to make.

That stringing grots across the board between two objectives is fun.... no?
If one's having trouble killing a 30 or even 67 point unit in any type of mission one's probably going to lose anyway so please stop jangling the rules around so one can lose less

I'm sorry, still not getting it? Who was trying to "jangle the rules around so one can lose less?"
You know what, nm, this is giving me a headache.

OK, I'm not picking sides in this debate, but IG platoons can count as a single unit, but they must follow all unit coherency rules, and the player MUST MAKE IT KNOWN to his opponent. Once Chosen the player cannot make them into seperate units during the game.

Wrong. Only Infantry Squads may do this. The Platoon Command Squad and any other squads in the platoon MUST remain separate units.

That time that Ard Boyz did score kill points by slots it was incredibly obviously broken in the Guard's favor. Even more broken in their favor than regular KP are broken against them. As in it was entirely possible to make a 2500 point army out of an HQ and two Troops and make it necessary to chew through six units and their dedicated transports to score any kill points at all. And it had to be the right units too, if you wiped out all but one unit of all three platoons you scored nothing.

The normal Kill Point rules are completely balanced and fair....IF.....you always play randomly rolled missions and have a BALANCED army. One trick pony armies will always hate one particular mission. They were designed that way to keep people playing balanced armies and not these lopsided all mech or double lash prince armies.
