There was a store on Yonge St. in TO very close to where the GW is now that closed abruptly years ago after being in business for about 6 months. The hubby and wife team had the shop and had sold some stuff at the CNE earlier that year. I met them there while flipping burgers one summer. The shop opened and a lot of the local gaming pukes went there and bought stuff and hung out there. But they never got any new stock, ever. Now, I assume they just didn't pay their accounts payable (that was our big phrase from accounting in high school that autumn). In the middle of the night one night, they packed it all up and vanished.

This kinda remind me, whatever really happened to guerrilla tactics? They opened online, had a huge tournament that 40k radio covered people were raving about them.

Then stuff went south, people didn't get orders, there was some story about a car accident or something. The whole thing was kinda weird.

The guy who owned Gueriila Tactics actually went to jail. He was a decent guy but got caught up in a bad situation.

He went to jail? For what? I thought it had something to do with a car accident.

yeah, I remember them. I bought a bunch of stuff from them on a sale they did, just because I got THAT tired of the contradicting stories I heard. Went beautifully.

I don't want to broadcast his personal situation because it wouldn't be right. Basically, he ran a game store in the area as well as the website. His situation caused him to go out of business and lose everything. I think the outstanding orders may have been due to his account getting closed with his distributors for money owed.

Going to jail for 40K; that's hardcore.

Different from most of the above in a good way. Little Wars in Fairfax, VA, closed due to the owner getting an offer to sculpt full time for a gaming company. Not sure which one it was, but running a search on his name shows "sculpted by" miniatures on at least three different company sites.
