I sort of finished up the last chimera. I really dislike painting tanks, but this one really bugged me. It is a terrible paint job but here we go:

And the new wip, a big project, It is a shadowsword to go with the renegades:

Have a nice weekend,

Very nice chimeras. I would like to say that the cream is great and smooth, but I feel so highlighting or weathering would really have a nice effect to break up the flat cream colour.

I envy your baneblade. And hope to see great things from it in this blog

I wish I had your resources :(.
That said, these are all truly amazing armies, I'm stunned at the dedication and talent that have gone into all of the ones you have showcased.
Keep up this fantastic work!

Haha after reading about how much you don't like painting tanks, I was very surprised to see a shadowsword as the next project!

I like the clean look of the tanks you finished tho. Very strong scheme.

@ Squig_herder: Thanks, that last chimera was a real pain in the butt. The color scheme dates from '06 . So no real ambition to improve the chimeras in any way.

@ Trilobite: I'll try! haha thanks for your support

@ Maj.Winters: I know it is silly, but the Shadowsword has been standin on the shelf for the last year. I thought with spearhead I should break my routine and try to paint some tanks and that I don't be such a b**** about it.
Thanks again for the praise.

Anyway the black orcs and Grimgor are done. Next up will be a pump wagon.

And a wip of the super heavy:

Have a nice week

wow, when i opened this blog i was like:
"wow cool..."
"oh, there's more...awesome..."
"..and even more..."
"what the ..."
"...."
and quickly several trivial thoughts about about you having to be bill gates's brother or something to able to afford this stuff crossed my mind.

But anyway: dude, you have awesome armies, and youre a skilled painter, you must be really proud of these, great work !
and of course: keep it up !

NO! ... no Gits!

hey everyone,

it has been a while, very busy buying a house and all that, hardly any time to paint.

Thanks Teeffless I do my best..sometimes. haha thanks.

Still I got something done. A pump wagon to be precise. Also our group has fired up a campaign for this summer. This gives me a reason to paint up some more Chaos marines. First up are some plague ogryns that I can also use as spawn.

The campaign puts me up against Eldar, ultra marines and Imperial Guard. Lucky enough I won my first match against the guard. I'll try and make a few pictures of our games.

Pump wagon :

ogryns wip:

good evening!

The plague ogryns are done. Quick and easy, for now I'll be using them as spawn.

next wip will be some more Chaos: a havoc squad with 3 missile launchers and a lascannon.

Have a nice evening,

i think your work is great for it's completeness and its attention to detail while being unfussy, and your red and green both rock technique wise!

Hey everyone,

I thought why not put up some more wip pics. Currently working on the havocs, a spear chukka, and on the banehammer.

Added some old crew:

My cabinets are steadily getting too small to hold the collection . Better get some new space soon.

Sorry turn out the quality of some pics isn't all that. It is just to give an idea.

Thanks Azekio. Red and green are both prime colors in all my armies.

Today played my first 8th edition game. Greenskins against high elves. New rules worked out fine. I wasn't too happy about my rock lobber losing the ability to negate armour saves. But then again i got a lot more hits, it worked great at taking out hordes of spearmen.
I also fielded my Night gobbos as a horde of 60 with some characters. And i must say it was rock hard. The big un's with spears were also amazing.
Charging was much easier and a lot farther then before. I had my orcs charge a length of 14 inches , seriously wow.

Those were just first impressions. Not too bad so far.

have a good night!

cheers

Hey everyone!

Today finished my second spear chukka. Nothing too fancy. Just replaced some crew members with some oldies I had in the bit box.

I thought it would be nice to paint something for the space orks . So the new wip is a battle wagon. Simple straight out of the box.

have a nice evening!

I just got through scoping out your whole blog going back to the early part of this year. I have to say that your collection and painting skill is amazing! It's also great to see that you game as well. Thanks for taking the time to post every thing, I really enjoyed it. Keep on having fun!

hey everyone, just a small update.

@M66, thanks it's good to have a nice balance of painting and collecting and at the same time getting some games played as well. merci for your comment.

Still working on several things at once. The havocs and the vehicles are comming along nicely.
But since the first game with 8th edition i must say I'm kinda hooked. My warmachines did pretty well so I decided to get some work started on a second Rock Lobba. Just finished the crew.

I also had my first 8th ed game with my vampires. Very cool battle against beastmen. Although losing my general in the 3rd turn didn't help. The thing I liked was how offensive vampire magic started to work better for me. I also noticed that the horde formation didn't really work for my skeletons.

Anyway a few pics of the new crew and then off to bed.

have a good night

So a update before going to bed. I'll keep it short. Finished the second rock lobber. It turned out okay.
Next time I'll try to get the Havocs done. Also fabricated a few more skeletons with spears. Maybe I'll paint those between projects because they are easily done.

Untill next time.

cheers

hey everyone,

just an update of tonights work. Tomorrow I'll have a battle against High Elves. And I really feel like getting my Vampires out for this occasion. So when I got home from work, I had a nice dinner, kissed the wife and then went into a building frenzy.

This is what the table looked like:

I managed to build a unit of 29 ghouls to go with the strigoi:

Also put a necromancer on a corpse cart:

Furthermore I'm working on a vampire battle standard bearer, a hero on a nightmare, some zombies, black knights and I'll try to create another corpse cart from some old undead bits.

I'll make some pictures of the armies tomorrow.

cheers

Hey everyone, last thursday i played my third 8th edition game. I played vampires against high elves. It was great fun for the most part. The magic fase was a bit double sided.
We played the scenario from the great book where you need to capture river crossings. The rules for terrain were funny enough. Out of the four turns I managed to roll bad for power dice in three of them. I mean really bad. First turn 2 power dice, also in the third turn 2 pd and in the fourth turn I rolled 3 pd.
The second turn was cool. 11 pd, managed to cast Wind of Undeath 2 times wich was a real game winner( killed 2 bolt throwers.
His magic fase was much better using fire lore. We had great fun ending up in a draw with both of us capturing 1 crossing.
Also the Vargulf was kicking ass.

I took some pictures of his army. You allready know what mine looks like.

Also a small update of my own work:

wip skeletons:

wip havocs:

Cheers

Hey everyone,

just a small update. Quickly finished the skeleton spearmen. I now have a unit of 30. Might not deploy them all the time but it gives me some extras in case I raise some during a battle.

A week from now I'll start a bigger project. I'll get the keys to my new house. Updates will be even less frequent for a while as you will understand.

Moving does have the advantage that you find stuff again. I found part of my old BFG fleet. I'm considering if I should give it a whole new paint job or if I will just upgrade the existing one. Maybe add a few sails to the kroozers, to get a more freebooter theme? Now I just have to find the box with the rest of the fleet, but hey.. all in due time, enjoy.

cheers
