My wife's diabetic, so she doesn't really have the option to drink the non-diet soda. I finally got used to the taste since I'd drink hers when I ran out of my own, but 10 years ago I would have agreed with you.

Diet Dr. Pepper is worth trying though. It's really not bad!

Drink deeply and lustily from the foamy draught of evil.

You must know cultured people, Monster Rain - the rednecks all drink Bud Light.

We drink Miller Lite - with our pinkies extended, of course!

Oh sweet Jesus that made me laugh so hard, because I actually have a very...blue collar friend who says that Miller Lite is all "pure classy Rednecks should drink".

+1 internets to you, good sir!

Well, what I'm saying is, there plenty of people out there who think sugar replacers are healthier then sugar, diabetes is a whole other box of chocolates.

I think it depends on exactly which cheeks the jam is harvested from.

Oh yeah I was just saying that the filthy, wretched taste of aspartame can grow on you after a time. I was actually reading somewhere reputable that your body can forget what to do with actual sugar after you fool it for too long with artificial sweeteners.

We often use 'cheeky' as a substitute for surreptitious, e.g. 'I'm just off for a cheeky smoke', 'Wow, I'm pretty drunk - must have been those two cheeky Tequilas I had earlier...'.

Hope this helps.

As many of you know I am a Scotch man, preferring Balvenie's 12 year Signature or Jura 16, but seeing as how it is starting to warm up here I think that I will start drinking more and more gin. Mmmm, Broker's, Tanqueray and Bombay Sapphire are all worthy gins. But the Scotch and Bourbon will stay out as long as possible....

might I suggest Hendrick's, Bellringer, and Dryfly, if you like good gin, like myself....

I always lean towards bourbon over scotch...I mean, it's all whiskey....but the aging process, malts, etc are different...

you should try Woodford Reserve....its tops...

Depends on the time of day.

Before 8pm - Root Beer or some other soft beverage.

After 8pm - Root Beer or Bourbon and Ginger Beer/Coke or Kopparberg Pear Cider or some sort of Canadian or American beer.

I like Bourbon, but it is still a bit sweet for me. I enjoy the harsher and more refined taste of Single Malt Scotch
