Am I the only person who's glad that it's essentially running on the same engine as Street Fighter IV?
Here's to hoping that the third entry has a better soundtrack. I think the first two games (especially the second) had the worst soundtracks I've ever heard in a videogame. They sounded something like an early 90's excercise video. Every time I'm in the character selection screen, I'm instanly reminded of "I've got the power".

I got to play it. It is amazingly smoother than 2 even though 2 was damn smooth. The look and feel of the game is the same, 2.5d does not derail it from the previous games as much as you might think it would.
Overall I liked it and will be playing the crap outa it once its released to the public.

Why do all their tunes sound awful on the newer Fighters?
ArcSys and SNK can still make a soundtrack though.
ArcSys' soundtracks have always been so OTT and ridiculous that they're almost distracting (I like when fighting game music gets me into a certain rythm), but I love them anyway.
I think Namco does an excellent job of creating soundtracks to fighting games. Tekken in particular has always had an incredibly awesome soundtrack, and even if you don't like the style of the games, you have to admit that.
Street Fighter IV's opening song was another awful decision on Capcom's part.

I think the SF4 versions of he themes are vastly inferior to he SF2 or even the SFA ones.
I think if they can't use real instruments, a 16 bit synthesiser sounds better than a modern synth. Even then, their arrangement skills just make it sound worse now.
