Decided to move this to the P&M Blog and update with some things I'm working on.
First here is the group shot of my finished Space Marines from the Assault on Black Reach set. (Sorry for messy work space.)
A view of the Terminator sergeant. I added a banner to his back for fun.
Now this is the commander character. A slight alteration was adding the dragon head icon to the top of his banner. To add a little more of unnecessary height I posed him on a bit of rock standing in a pool of lava.
His cloak represents my first time working with green stuff, which I found to be exceedingly difficult to use. I attempted to give it a little bit of a lizard skin feel - nowhere near perfect but a good learning experience.
I've shown the Dread previously but I decided to do a small conversion by swapping out his bolter for a nice "fluffy" flamer.
That completes my Assault on Black Reach set. Moving on to other things I have been messing with, I scratch built a dreadnought drop pod. It was a struggle and by the end of it I probably would've been better off shelling out the dollars for a real one from Forge World. I may revisit this later and add some bling. If nothing else it could use a top-hatch or something.
I bought a rhino but so far all I have painted up is this panel from the inside. I better remember not to glue the back door shut!
So I'm pretty sick of Space Marines and decided to move on to Sisters of Battle, lack of a proper/current codex be damned. This is a Canoness that drank a Red Bull and grew wings. Actually they came from some Eldar Swooping Hawks and they were a pain in the back attaching to this figure. This represents my first time working with a metal model and using a pin vice to pin on the arms and wings. I snapped my small drill bit and the tip is buried somewhere inside her shoulder blades. Boo.
