Losing because of his own incompetence as a politician, not because he might have been running for POTUS.
sebster wrote:Pawlenty
A moderately successful governor, who really isn't charismatic enough to run for National office.
sebster wrote:Huckabee
A great speaker and candidate, his main problem is his being ordained as a Baptist minister (at least in my mind), and his weird name. Chuck Norris' endorsement should have scared up more votes...
sebster wrote:Jindal
One of the most popular governors in the US, and widely seen as a very good candidate for the Republicans in 2012.

The front runner for the GOP in 2012, and having fairly good approval ratings across the nation.

You were saying? I would say that considering those rumors to be "a political death sentence" is a bit hyperbolic...

Pawlenty has my vote if he runs.

--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

He's handled Mn fairly well. Can't be easy being a red governor in a blue state.

Like Arnie in Cali except Arnie is getting more blue with every liberal thing he passes. LOL.

Being floated for the Presidency tends to attract the attention of scandal mongers amongst the opposition, and possible opponents. It usually isn't the best idea to allow your hat to be put in the ring too early.

He's a moderate Republican, and Minnesota isn't all that liberal.

I don't think he would have a shot at a Republican Presidential nomination, he won't be able to cater to the right people.

Not disagreeing with that, but I fail to see why its "a political death sentence." Of course more attention is going to come, but I still believe the statement to be a bit hysterical.

In any case, mint juleps for all!
